i have a dice roll calculation thingy, i've got more than 11 thousand rolls right now. Only problem was that it bugged up a lil' on the 1 vs 1 rolls right now, the creator person explained to me why and i updated it, thus fixing it. But as it stands, 33 to 847 is pretty off indeed.
the battle outcomes and the dice rolls generally have close to the right percent at most times, so although the dice can go on rampages and streaks, in evens out
In some cases I am unlucky (or lucky) on several rolls in the following. I do attack with 11 armies against 4 and loose 10 vs. 2. The whole round seems fubar. In other cases it is the other way round: I have a huge series of attacks winning, say, 75% of the rolls.
On about 60% of the rolls it seems alright to me, though.
one day, i'll have awesome dice, and conquer half the board. i will have lost it within two days, due to bad rolls. and if i start a game on a day with bad rolls, im pretty much screwed
Last night I kept track for a short time on the dice roll results. Not looking for percentages of any nubmer. My complaint isn't how many 6's I roll it is when the defender rolls a 6 when I roll a 6.
I had 22 attacks with 66 dice for me and 35 dice for the defender. Both the defender and I rolled 9 6's but four of my 6's were matched by the defenders 6's.
I didn't bother keeping track of any other number.
its seems to me its about 50/50, when i attack just to get a card rolls are good, when i attack to stop the bonus armys they suck. its all in stradegy.
I had one really good game with the dice and one really bad one. It seems to get worse in the bad games and better in the good ones. I may be to new to tell. What is the code written in? Is there a source I could take a look at? I think I still have code for random dice I wrote in basic programming language in high school to compare too.
The dice are definitely way streaky... in one game my 9 armies couldn't beat 4, and then another guy attacked 11 vs 7 and only killed 2 while loosing all his on the next turn... but other times my 11 can take out 10 without loosing a guy.
Actually I think my luck is changing. Its turning bad for this one game where I have had nothing but bad rolls and the other team has had better rolls. My ally's army of 8 got crushed attacking 1 army.
In my opinion, there certainly appears the dice are screwed in some way or another.
They may be random over the course of a year or so, but they certainly are not random over the course of a few minutes. I have timely attacked countries with 15-30 units vrs as few as 1-3 units, and I have managed to loose good half of my units to 1-3 units.
Most of the times I attack, I ether win two dice 2-10 times in a row, or the defender does. Sure the dice could be random but you can surely see the signs of "pseudo random".
For someone who has 144 concurrent games, it is definitely not something I am imagining
This weekend was absolutely ridiculous. There was just a bizarre number of X on 1 attacks where the defender always pulls a six, or pulls a two but you end up with three 1's.
This is happening in multiple games and multiple maps. It's to the point I don't dare attack unless there's a clear advantage, and even with that I hold my breath.
It sure looks like there's a problem and it's quickly taking the enjoyment out of the game for me.
How will be a risk game without this random shit of dices? Or with some decent random, loosing 10 to 1 is too much, even if that one is Osama Bin Laden reincarnated in 1000 people:)
