hehe, well Ed .. i agree with the part about people being rash, regards renewing membership. As a foundry regular however, you know better than to think that the maps graphics are completely unimportant..
For me this is a very specific case and i genuinely can not process the new map! That is a psychological block for sure and i would actually find it easier if it were a 'new' map with no preconception. It is not and i would play it less if it were; for similar but not exactly the same reason i do not play the Rail maps, i like them but they are less accessible than landmass maps.
I know the original Classic image so intimately that i can play it with a short-hand version of cogitative analysis. The new one, theoretically, is the same but it bears no visual comparison. The gestalt way i use known visual markers to plan and interpret troop variations is absent. I am lost in a familiar contradiction and a land i used to be able to relax in has disintegrated.
Hopefully this will not be for long.
