Freestyle "lock out"

Post by gdeangel »

Play Order

In a freestyle game it doesn't matter in which order players take their turns. Players can even play simultaneously! After the last player takes his turn, a new round begins immediately. The player who triggers a new round is blocked from taking a second back-to-back turn and must wait until either an opponent begins their turn or half of the round passes.

I seem to remember that the rule used to be whoever ended the previous round could not startthe next round. As it goes now, if I start a round, end my turn, then then I wait around for the round to end (either time out, or other guys ends), and now we both have green light to start the next round. This mean whoever ends the round gets "back to back" turns... When did this rule change... and why?

The person never "ended" the turn. The round timeout ended the turn, therefore the person can still take their turn.

Wow, thanks. That is a pretty cheap loophole if you ask me. It's a guaranteed back-to-back if someone knows how to scam it... and probably another reason why "speed" games have taken hours to finish b/c people take up the whole 5 minutes to game this rule. I would submit a "suggestion" to fix this, but it would be just ignored anyway I'm sure.
