Wait until marv gets a load of this!!

How would this idea have any appeal? There is no visual stimulus, and attacking from square10 to square 11 is meaningless. You've also given no ideas about continents other than an open ended question.

I think in terms of playability, this is the one lowest I have seen for any map proposal, and the appeal is certainly the lowest.

There are a lot of good ideas in the sticky thread at the top of this page if you search through it. Creating a square map with numbers for names and no theme or continents or graphics doesn't seem like a great idea.

A small example of how this can be improved? I remember a chutes and ladders map proposal a while ago- same general idea of a square board and square countries, but it has a theme and some different methods of attack...some good possibilities perhaps but was abandoned as far as I know.

It's kind of like Circus Maximus no bonuses and for the background, I would have no idea what to do. For different ways to attack I could add arrows and rules to come with it and I would like to here suggestions for this.

DOes everything have to have a theme, this one does have a very basic theme, it's a square that you can attack any thing next to it.

Visual Appeal: I can't help it, any ideas, I just kept it white for the fact I had no ideas.

Continents: Again, give me ideas.

Revising: I'll probably revise this with some borders, certain attack ways and continents.

I could give the countries names, but what to call them?

I'll work on it, but the Graphics, I need ideas, because I have no idea what to put.

Also, the thing about the ideas at the sticky form, Not all of them look good. I don't want to make something off of a game I don't really like or of a place I don't know.

I could add the bonus for very country to this idea, since I like that one.

wow, with all of the really creative maps that are coming out, this has to be one with the least amount of effort. This is a joke. I hate Circus Maximus and I hate this idea. This should not become a map. Use your imagination. By working on this map, it just proves you want to be known for making a map even if it is complete shit!

Good point, I don't want to be known for a bad map.
I have another, but the names were hard to see.
What creative ideas thought.
Ones off of places and games played before. Oh really creative.

Very funny, it's just an idea, and I made it, I can see it is unpopular, so I'll give it up unless anybody wants me to continue it (Which I don't think anybody does.) Don't lose hope in me, I'll come up with better ideas.

the point of that discussion was to give people a place to bounce ideas for maps. And apparently, it worked. Check the Senate map. Good call buddy.

OK, I don't like it by now, but maybe I get to know it in the process.
I have 2 suggestions:
The countries names could be A0-A9, B0-B9 and so on, at least one knows then at once where that country is located.

As continents, I propose that EVERY 2*2 square gets a bonus of one.
With every I mean all 81 which means that one continent would be A1,A2,B1,B2 and the next overlaps with it: A2,A3,B2,B3
Then you kind of make your own continents while the game develops.

The only spin I can think to put on it, would be to base it on a Tetris style game. You have five shapes each made up of four blocks that could represent countries or continents; square, line, T-shape, L-shape and another shape I don't know the name of. You could then have different colours, each having up to five shapes.

So for example you may have a red continent made up of a square, which has four blocks/territories. Blue continent made up of a square, line and T-shape, giving 12 blocks/territories. Continue for as many colours as you like.

I'm not sure this idea would have any more appeal than the one you suggested, but it's just an idea for you to consider. If people don't get what I mean, I'll make up a dummy one to demonstrate my idea.

The tetris idea is a good one, but I probably will end this map for now, and start other ones, and finish other ones.

I've played on a map similar to this - all squares, and it wasn't very good for playability.

Reminds me of 'battle dome'. http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 41&start=0

That idea didn't fly very well.
