Melee (from the French mêlée) generally refers to disorganized close combat involving a group of fighters. A melee ensues when groups become locked together in combat with no regard to group tactics or fighting as an organized unit; each participant fights as an individual.
Can you work together to make it to the Melee? I wanted to do a tournament that would have the groups playing get progressively larger, making it so that for part of the time you'd have to work together to make it to the final game, or the "Melee". You'll start out fighting for yourself in round 1, but in round 2 & 3 you must work together to make it to round 4 where it's every "man" for themselves once again. Who will survive the "Melee"?

One open game spot throughout your participation
At least a 96% turn ratio
Here's how the rounds will go:
96 players to start
Round I: 32 - Three player games
Feudal Wars: Terminator, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Foggy
Winner of each game advances and must partner one of the other winners, your choice until the given deadline. After which if you have not teamed up, your partner will be chosen for you.
Round II: 8 Doubles games
Mongol Empire: Doubles, Sequential, Flat-rate, Chained, Sunny
Winning team advances. A quad team must now be formed. You can choose to form one with your present partner or join up w/ 3 new people, your choice until the given deadline. After which if you have not teamed up, your partners will be chosen for you.
Round III, Semi-Final: 2 Quads games
U.S. Senate: Quads, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Sunny
Winning teams advance to the "Melee"
Round IV, Final: 1 - Eight player free-for-all game for the win
NYC: Standard, Freestyle, Escalating, Chained, Foggy
**Regarding the final game: Now I know that there are many of us that don't like to play "Freestyle", but a melee is defined as "a free-for-all close-quarter fight", and playing freestyle fits perfectly. This allows for an unpredictable outcome as would happen in an actual melee.**
