<Subject>: Consolidate game list De-clutter list of maps
<Body>: Change map list to be pull-down, put tag to point to small pics of maps on another page.
Suggestion Idea: On Start-a-game and Game-finder there is a busy section where each map has a small picture and radio-button or check-box (btw I like check box better). Consolidate which map to select down to a pull-down box.
Specifics: .Add pull-down for which map to select. .Add a link to another page (new) .Add a new page with the maps small image along with the checkbox to select. Keep the link to a bigger picture of the map intact. Align the images into three columns.
Why it is needed: Make the page smaller, so that more options can be added later, without making the page get too busy.
ive thought about this before but at the moment its not really needed. However its good to get the conversation started because the number of maps being quenched lately has increased. There is a further 11 maps in final forge with a number of maps in the main foundry not far behind.
Done! It uses the ticker buttons from our pagination system so you can scroll through the maps quickly. you can also type out the map's name to jump. The Game Finder version allows multiple selections.
Given the large number of maps we have now, I think this is really needed to keep scrolling under control.

I'm not sucking up, but this is fantastic ! To think that I may not develop crippling RSI for an extra day because you guys saved us from all that scrolling !
I agree... Either there needs to be a setting to be able to see all the maps at once, or there needs to be somewhere specific that players can go to see a table of all the maps...
I can't imagine finding new maps to play or that pique my interest using the scroller... Not all of us are familiar with every map out there and know what right to go to and we still need a place to BROWSE maps...

I think that would be a good idea. The wow factor (to quote gimil - hehe wow factor) of seeing ALL the maps at once is great. It shows clearly how much community involvement there is in the site, and it as good an advertisement as you could possibly get for the site.
neat advancment, I think i personally would still have liked to see them separated into the 3 groups (easy, intermediate, difficult) as was dicussed at some point in the past, but that may be more difficult then it sounds lol just my thought
I like the old way better. I much prefer scrolling the page with all the maps laid out. I hope we are given an option in control panel to either use this new way or use the original way.
Time to retire this much loved sig of mine with a new clan.
I must say i like this ALOT more it makes tournament organizing a ton easier
Before - I would have to make a round with say 10 different maps id have to scroll up and down the list trying to find the correct map, sometimes glossing over it Now - I simply go to the list and find the correct name, a ton easier on me

I'm not sure that Lack is all that keen on allowing people to switch back and forth. He hasn't ever given that option before except for a brief transition period with the site moving to AJAX.
