FORBIDDEN CITY

Post by Rall »

Would someone please write a strategy for Forbidden City? Or at least how things work on there. I don't understand the walls and borders.

Thanks,
Rall

I agree. I played it once, and couldn't understand how all the connections worked. I'm sure it's all described on the map, it's just explained in a very confusing way. Then again, it could just be because it's a really complex map, and that's the most plain way it can be explained. I just used the map inspect function of BOB, and hoped for the best.

What is so confusing about it? I have played it several times and not had any problems with connections, only deciding which bonuses to go for. Lately I've been adjusting my strategy for it. (whenever I play it, I don't usually like to wait 30 minutes for a 1v1 speed to fill)

The best way to learn the new complex maps is to understand bonuses and attack routes. You can do this by using Bob-- and more importantly turn your Continent Overview On under View Options of your Bob Menu.

Rall, thanks for the enquiry.

As mapmaker, i have heard your call, and placed at the beginning of the map thread an image that will assist you to determine how the borders and paths work.
As well, obviously, BOB will assist you.

Bob will not just assist you, it is imperative that you use it

I won a tourney on the thing, and I still cant understand the connections without it on

Essentially, you have to study the lines as well as where things are touching closely. If a line connects, then the countries connect. Some "leap" over others, so yes, it can be confusing. Also, towers attack certain places as it says in the legend

I stink at strategy for it, but I can figure it out.
