a second call pm has been sent out to those who have still not joined a game. They got until tommorow evening (EST)
also, please take note of the change in the final round settings that are displayed on the opening 1st post. Pretty much, i made use of the "random map" as the tiebreaker.
So I'm out, but have a real question. Is there any way to survive being at the bottom of the list on this map? I mean, I went 7th and I got 2 turns. One to conquer the landing point, another to move into a second territory. Didn't really lose too many armies along the way. Eliminated before my 3rd turn. I'm not really sure how to improve my outcome in those two turns?

Seems like way too many people for the map.
Well i guess that part of winning on CC is luck of the roll . It's the one element that can't be mastered but most everyone believes that this plays its part. not just luck of your rolls, but the good luck to the one who got the elimination. I admit, it's hard to get ahold of much leverage in that map with 8 players (but there are also 9 homelands) ...it's just the element of luck. Not much you can do to work on it

Okay, but luck was pretty much on my side. Like I said, I barely lost any armies in battles (if any). So the conclusion is, if you go towards the end of the turn order, and someone wants to go for you first, you have no chance? That doesn't make any sense.

One way is to just build up. it is escalating cards. wait for people to do what you did then attack them and get their cards. Not much to it.. and yes luck is a big part of it and other players strategy too... In my game some guy went bonzai. so I was able to move in and knock out two players. Might not have done it if it wasn't a tournament game but I secured my spot to move one.
FYI: Because of the small reserve list and people still no-showing, in order to fill game i am going to use the second chance.
How this will work is i will take the people who finished 2nd to last in the previous round, place their names into random.org, then determine who will get the second chance. This player will continue through the tournoment had they not been eliminated in the first place. You will only get one second chance for the duration of the tournoment. However, if everyone joins, there will be no second chance recipiants that round.

hey all
i will be away the week of August 2nd - 8th and there is a 0% chance of me having internet access. I will get a sitter for my game if it comes to that, but i dont want a sitter in charge of the tourny. The tourny proceedings will go for this week then resume on the 8th which will probably be the start of round 3.
thanks all for flexibility
for round 3, Game 5412912 is still in progress. After the next elimination in this game i will create round 4 games and start round 4, because after 2 people are eliminated, the game is completed as far as the tournoment is concerned.
Thanks all for your patience and you'll all be playing again asap.
