How come 1 trips is worse? You had 90 mins 40 games to win the challenge. Now be ready for penalties.

The thing is, there is no need for negotiation. The Rules in the first post clearly state the process for breaking a tie.Blitzaholic wrote:Dako wrote:Do you think penalties are fair in World Cup? Just 5 mostly random shots to determine a winner.

dako, are you in either of these clans?
If not, please let us negotiate what we are deem is fair to both sides that are actually involved.
thx sir.
Chuuuuuck's rule of thumb comment has been quoted here a few times, but is NOT an actual part of the Rules. Every clan in the cup agreed to the above tie-break mechanism when signing up to participate. So if both clan can agree on something else - fantastic - and if not, you've already agreed by default to the single trips game.If there is a tie in any clan war, a one game tie-breaker will be set up with the following settings:
Type: Triples
Map: Classic
Play: Sequential
Spoils: None
Reinforcements: Chained
Fog: No
Any players can play in the tie-breaker game even if they have already played in their allotted number of games for that clan war.

(Also - anyone who is going to hassle Nemesis if they choose to stick to the agreed-upon rules, which the posts so far seem to indicate, should recall all of the shit that people gave KORT when we tried to get G1 to agree to a tie-break game/series after our first challenge against them resulted in a tie!)

I am very aware of the thread and comment in question - as it was in the EMPIRE/KORT thread, and I was part of the discussion. Here is the way it worked out, in case you would like a summary.Blitzaholic wrote:Foxglove wrote:The thing is, there is no need for negotiation. I asked this from chuuuck weeks ago when he suggested 60 games in another clan CUP series challenge that he was involved in and I said you cannot change the rules, and he said he was not, it was within the rules. I said sorry and that makes sense and thanked him for the explanation. If he comes in here and posts, he can share that with you.
That is quite possibly true.Blitzaholic wrote:we all are trying to find a fair compromise.
1 may we too small, but,
40 may be too much.
perhaps we could meet in the middle or something like that.
Hit the nail on the head. Rules state it is a 1 game tie breaker unless both clans agree to something different.Foxglove wrote:Chuuuuuck's rule of thumb comment has been quoted here a few times, but is NOT an actual part of the Rules. Exactly. If someone had a problem with one-game tiebreaker, he or she should have suggested that BEFORE the start of the challenge (or even whole cup). Right now, it's just not something we are even planning on discussing.Foxglove wrote:Nevertheless, it is irrelevant if Nemesis wishes to stick to the strictures to which both clans have already agreed.

here is fair compromise.Blitzaholic wrote:Again, we need to stop arguing and decide on a fair compromise if it does come down to a tie.
thx

This is what we did when our challenge with the Dragoons looked like a tie. We actually started the game halfway through the second set just in case. In the end it wasn't necessary, but it was an exhilarating experience. Also, since it is sunny, everyone can watch.freakns wrote:here is fair compromise.Blitzaholic wrote:Again, we need to stop arguing and decide on a fair compromise if it does come down to a tie.

tiebreaker(again, if it gets to tiebreker) will be one game, classic map, triples, no spoils, sunny, chained.
this is official standing point of Nemesis as a clan. im not sure what else is there to be said?!

Gonna be awesome to watch, hadn't considered it.chemefreak wrote:Also, since it is sunny, everyone can watch.
I beg to differtrapyoung wrote:Looks like Game 7069972 is the one to watch to see if there's a tiebreaker. Luckily that's sunny too.
Yeah, I agree. Just looked at territory count and thought it was even but it looks like Nemesis has this wrapped up. Maybe instead of arguing about what will eventually be a one game trips on classic, we start hearing some all star lineups for each team?hatchman wrote:I beg to differtrapyoung wrote:Looks like Game 7069972 is the one to watch to see if there's a tiebreaker. I think you are more scared of losing then they are.Blitzaholic wrote:freakns wrote:here is fair compromise.Blitzaholic wrote:

what has to be said? it is lame that you want to decide it on one game and base it off luck, instead of being willing do at least do a best of 7 or 9 series and consider it escalating to help prevent any possible luck drops. The only thing this shares to me is you are scared.

I think with the talent of these two clans I could probably come up with about a thousand possible match-ups! Should be epic!trapyoung wrote:Maybe instead of arguing about what will eventually be a one game trips on classic, we start hearing some all star lineups for each team?
