Leehar, I agree with you on that part and I even understand the OP's concern... I just finished a tournament match where it took me 6 rounds to kill off a particular territ of 1 troop because every time I dropped 3-4 and attacked it I lost all. I also have my dice analyzer facts of the dice being a bit more screwy recently (at least for me) albeit over a small sample.... I check my dice stats regularly and because of my settings they are cleared out on a regular basis so I see the short term runs.Leehar wrote:Agreed, however, I think what everyone is saying is that those occurrences seem to be occurring more often.trinicardinal wrote: just because it is extremely unlikely for something to happen doesn't mean that it cannot happen.
Obviously we can say that the dice even out over time, but you also tend to notice an 8v2 loss or a 4v12 win in the earlier stages of the game when those rolls have a large say in the progress on the game, and the significance decreases at the end of the game where you're just clearing up.
Obviously a lot of this is just opinion, but I feel that sometimes even the defensive dice are better than should be expected when you have 20/30 stacks only taking 3 or 4 territories of 1/2/3 troops both for yourself and the opponent, and it seems even with 20v15 odds it's rare to be able to guarantee victory. I think this just comes back to what everyone says that they can no longer be comfortable with 8v2's 14v1's etc. They should occur very rarely, but they seem to be occurring often enough as to be noticeable by most, which is a concern, whether it is based on factual evidence or not.

Team games require more skill than say 1 vs 1 games and freestyle requires more skill to beat anyone good and most of the times your opponents will have less skill so therefore you have better odds to win the game even if dice are not good.Commander9 wrote:Huh?ljex wrote:wait so to increase score you have to play games that have more skill (opponents have lower skill)? Me for one. I think someone should create a thread for this and have a petition or list on the front page naming names.hondacbr wrote:So anyways, who else is planning on leaving this site once their premium is over?

I understand RANDOM. I don't want RANDOM in this form. I want BALANCED. I want FAIR dice. I want strategy to count for something. If I was looking for horseshoes, clovers and blue moons, I'd open a box of lucky charms not join an online risk club. Last I checked, RANDOM doesn't equal streak.sensfan wrote:Geez i dont understand what's up you folks. THE DICE ARE RANDOM!!!!!!!!!!!! Random doesn't mean perfect same roles in a pattern or same probabilty for each roll, it means its 1 or 6, 2 or 5, 3 or 4? I get bad dice slumps and good dice streaks all the time. Why? Because the dice are random.
What more needs explaining?
My question to you, or anyone for that matter, is what was wrong with the old dice?thegreekdog wrote:I have a question: If the dice have cheated you, do they cheat everyone?
As a follow up: If the dice cheat everyone, doesn't that mean that everyone is on a level playing field, at least with respect to the dice?
My point here is that if I have a good dice streak I will most assuredly play someone who also has a good dice streak and if I have a bad dice streak I will most assuredly play someone who has a bad dice streak. So, because CC is a multiple player game, we're all playing under the same system and therefore how could you possibly be cheated?
Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that question. I was unaware there were old dice.MNDuke wrote:My question to you, or anyone for that matter, is what was wrong with the old dice?thegreekdog wrote:I have a question: If the dice have cheated you, do they cheat everyone?

Just as a reply to you tgd, if what you say is true, then does that mean we should all start depending on defensive dice more? Just reduce the luck factor in gameplay by not relying on those dice? Would that not perhaps be somewhat counter-productive? It may perhaps just be the safer optionthegreekdog wrote:Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that question. I believe the new system is producing a lot more streaks resulting in an increase of unbalanced games.drunkmonkey wrote:There was an old system of grabbing random numbers. I don't think so. Maybe I wasn't clear in my original post. The only way I foresee dice would be unfair is if certain players got better dice than other players. That's really the only way, in a multiplayer game, that dice would be unfair. And even if the dice were unfair in that game towards one player, in other games the dice would be unfair in favor of that player. I guess I'm just not sure how dice could be unfair at all in a multiplayer game such as Conquer Club. And no, I'm not taking a moderator stance here. I've been screwed by the dice on multiple occasions, but I've also been helped by dice. So, given that I've been hurt and helped by dice, I'm not sure I could say the dice were unfair.Leehar wrote:Just as a reply to you tgd, if what you say is true, then does that mean we should all start depending on defensive dice more? Not unfair. Unbalanced.thegreekdog wrote:I don't think so. Maybe I wasn't clear in my original post. So not random, right? If I'm understanding this correctly then you want some kind of short-term normalisation occurring every x number of dice rolls. Other than that, I don't really see how you can make a constructive suggestion for the site (or how this would be anything other than a moan).MNDuke wrote: Not unfair. Unbalanced.
