Haha, well I've started some games on Chinese Checkers and King of the Mountains, but those maps...hm have a different feel that appealed to me. At this moment, the map doesn't.

if you are going to do this then you should still make the numbers of each colored area arranged like suduko would have them. Only one 1 in each column and row. Right now each box is the same layout.
Umm, I have not read anyones comment yet on this map, but if you are serious about making a sudoku map then you should re-arrange the numbers so that they are correct. As you have it right now, it would not be considered Sudoku.
Also, I have a great book by Michael Mepham and there is a website that has tons of different ways you can have the layout. Check out the jigsaw sudoku and the jig samurai sudoku. Below is the website. I bet you could find tons of ideas there.
I almost feel guilty if you were inspired by my thread. Anyway, it could work as a "pure concept" map.
A few suggestions:
- Please remove the diagonal bonus. It doesn't add anything. You need to be winning already to get this bonus. And it's a very non-sudoku bonus.
- I like the numbering:
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
With various numbering just to get it sudoku correct, making moves will be frustrating since each 3x3 will have different ordering of numbers. Mistakes will be made.
- Make the play less static by increasing the row and column bonuses (and decrease the rest). This will encourage grabs for rows and columns and spread the play. Else just the 4 corners will be guarded.
