Good point, but really in that specific case, maybe the team should be careful to keep you active in the game. After all, it seems a bit silly if a guy in the Iraq map can be helping his team with troops even if he doesn't hold a city or region (just a US loyalty or something). I guess what I'm saying is, if it was a part of the rules, then teams could re-work their strategy without a lot of fuss as long as they knew ahead of time. And I don't think it would detract significantly from the fun of playing teams on a given map.

This one?

In that case, would you mind also making the changes in the XML file, Natty? I don't have access to my usual computer and it'd be a pain to do it all on my phone.

Speaking of which, is there anything like a message that pops up in the game log describing the changes when a beta map gets updated?
chipv did something like that for King's Court. I forget how. I wanna say he mentioned how to do it in the King's Court map thread.

I asked him for access to the tool back then, but he never responded. And it seems chipv is no longer updating any of his tools anyway.
That tool is a big ...don't ask me why.... I was thinking to have it for an official usage (every time an update was uploaded)....but sadly I was asked to not go in that direction. If you want to give a "warning" to the people , please write here a post with all the changes explained, then send me a PM. I'll write an headline for it.
I suspect that a tool that can post to the chat of multiple games is an engraved invitation to spammers, and thus not something that the site would want to make generally available. I would like to see a link to the map topic on the game page of beta maps (or all maps, for that matter), similar to the link to the tournament topic in tournament games. The map topic link could even have an icon indicating the presence of unread posts.
check out game [game]9603212[/game], yellow took the homeruns and then had his pitcher taken out. He now has more troops then anyone else, but there is no one he can attack from there.
I have played this map quite a bit (the current released Beta version). Here are a couple of changes I suggest: - the home-runs need to be able to attack something... anything. I would suggest that they could attack the mound to make it more worth taking the home-run zones. Right now to take down 8 to get 2 troops (plus bases), but it doesn't seem worth it when those 2 just get stuck there. What is the point in getting 2 troops that you can't eventually do anything with? - I think the pitchers need 1 more auto-deploy. You have to go through Babe and at least 1 more spot, meaning you aren't likely to get out without waiting for a few rounds. Perhaps this is intentional?
I suspect that the problem is that the requirement is evaluated when a player loses a territory. Since yellow lost Dennis before the new XML was installed, the action doesn't happen now. I'll bet if someone took just one of yellow's Home Runs, the requirement would be checked, and yellow would be out right away.

The requirements are evaluated whenever you conquer/bombard a territory, nuke a country, or are hit by a killer neutral. So if you do not meet a requirement from the initial game drop you might have a chance to conquer it and become safe.
