I don't think Istanbul is a problem personally. It is easy to see that it is the same colour as the rest of Turkey and geographically it couldn't be part of any other continent. It could touch, I suppose, but my personal opinion is that it is fine as it is.

Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."
Terry Pratchet
If i had to be picky, I would move the 'arabia' text about 4 pixels over so border doesnt hug the 'a'.
also, while the straight line between luxor and darfu is an actual territory border in egypt. the straight line that continues into east Nubia and the eastern desert is not and i'd guess some lazy/carelessness on the original map makers part. It would be nice if you could make that small part not be a continuation of the straight line but still maintain all the borders its suppose to.
I also would move the egypt label down between darfur and upper nile so it doesn't have the horiz. line going through it.

Every map I have looked at has the straight line continue past Lake Nasser. An example:
I'll nudge the continent lables around a little for the next update.

ah right.. its the border with sudan... the original map maker uses the administrative boundry rather than the regular one... not sure what that means tho.
The Egypt-Sudanese border I used come from the Administrative boundary that allows for the dispute over the Hala'ib Triangle, a sort of leftover from the Anglo-Egyptian Condominium agreement and other lovely British Colonial policies. The fact is that it's sort of irrelevant and many maps show both versions of the border.
---The Middle East REVAMP has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. There will be at least two days (but may extend pass that) for you to post any objections; if no one has posted any protest aftertwo days the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. If after two days there is still discussion going on it may continue until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

only concern is the snake
the rest is perfect.

it's a snake tamer. see how he gently holds the snake? they clearly have a connection. a hunter would hold the snake by the throat, while the tamer gently holds it from the middle.
i think it's teaching it how to belly dance.

I love this one A WHOLE LOT MORE than the current one. I hate the current one all because of the way it looks! I find it hard to play on those colors for some reason. This looks very impressive!
Congrats Keyogi! I never even thought about a revamp needing a Final Forge, but I guess it makes as much sense as any other map. I wish I could contribute more, but this map has been far beyond my graphical perception for quite a while now.

LOL. Pay no attention to DiM and mibi, they think they're funny but everyone knows they're not.
that's it. no more bamboo for you mister
