Nice work. This site is making the right moves. . .
Couldn't put the programs on my work laptop so, counting cards was gettin' old. I agree, I lose the advantage if others don't count but, what do you do.

Take a week to get used to it and if you still feel this way post a poll in the Suggestions forum. If enough people prefer My Games without tabs after giving it enough time I would consider changing it. Sometimes our reaction is to resist change because we're not used to it, I want to make sure that isn't a factor.
Well, I'll do the poll if I must, but I really cannot see how making people click in so many places is more user friendly than having them all nicely together. As someone who scrolled down the page to see all games everyday, I know there is no way I personally am going to prefer looking on 4 seperate pages, however long I have to 'get used to it'
Those others who have already expressed a dislike of this new look, please keep a look out for the poll a week from now!
I at first wanted the old my games setup back too. Im already used to the new setup and like its features. Although I wouldnt mind having a feature that allows you to change which setup in your profile settings.
Perhaps an feature that would allow a user to choose to be notified by email if it's their turn. The system already notifies for 1st turns in new games. Just a thought.
After all the positive remarks, I gotta add one negative. It was great until I got to the part about new recruits not being able to join doubles or triples until they earn a new rank. I personally don't like this because i like to coordinate team attacks and do better with teammates. Not to mention for me now it seems like it will be impossible to get that first promo just because im no good at singles games

I'm guessing you are a free member? If that's true then you only have 4 open games at a time so I can see why having the games under different tabs might seem inefficient to you. However I don't see why there would be a need to check the recently finished games every day, and the wating games or ones in which you are eliminated aren't as important either (I certainly don't check them every day but I see why some would).
Anyway, for the premium members who have 20, 30 or 100 (for the JR's around here) games going at a time it makes a lot of sense to seperate the games page into tabs. I would say that Lack's time is better spent working on other to-do list items instead of giving people an option between the two display formats. However if an overwhelming amount of people like to see it the old way then maybe it should indeed become optional.

Your first promotion comes once you have played 5 games. There is no number of points you need to attain to become a private.
The idea is that once you have played 5 games you are familair with how the site works, you're planning on sticking around, and you probably joined the team game on purpose.
Many new recruits don't understand the way the game is set up, they often leave without finishing the games they join, and sometimes even if they are familiar with Risk they will get into a team game accidentally because they want to get started. So yes, I think this limitation one new recruits is a great feature and will improve the site dramatically.
I've got a bit of a problem with banning newbies from team games. Although 80% of deadbeats may be noobs, most noobs are not deadbeats. A blanket ban seems a lttle totalitarian to me.

This is a good point. Still, I would favor a less extreme rule that, for instance, booted a new recruit after one missed turn. This way, the noobs who are actually serious players don't suffer, and the ones who are deadbeats don't cause too much harm.
Card counting is a SKILL! So many players dont bother and rightly pay the price! Why take away that advantage?
AMEN! thats exactly what ive been trying to say here: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17041 ill restate- good players use other ways to keep track of cards- y hand a strategic tool to the rest on a silver platter??
ive loved every other update but please take this one off.
Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."
