I think it's a bad policy to allow thread topics to be changed in the first place.

I wouldn't have participated in a thread calling cops pigs... however I did participate in the thread based on the original topic title. It's not right.

I should be able to not only edit my posts... but completely delete past participation if dave is gonna change the title in a way that demeans those who put their lives on the line to protect us.

Just the one cop being called a pig here. The convicted criminal.

Maybe pigs shouldn't be beating up citizens. Maybe pigs shouldn't be using tasers as a first resort. Maybe pigs should actually be held to the same rules they brutally enforce on others.

There's maybe one good cop for every five pigs. It's becoming a problem in this society again. Also, I'm becoming more and more aware of the distinct possibility that you're one of them. And only dirty cops protect dirty cops... what's that say about you?

Well, if pigs roll in dirt, thus making them dirty,
and if cops are dirty, for they roll over people,
then we can conclude that dirty cops are aptly named "pigs."

Pimpdave : As annoying and disturbing as it is to see that these "police officers" are doing atrocious things in the video, it's just as disturbing to see people standing up for them. I used to stand by cops on a general basis of don't disobey the law and don't worry about them. But I've been on a couple of ride alongs and I have changed my mind. On one whole department and found that another department was pretty good.

I couldn't even full watch the last one you posted.

No. I have no problem with people recording video or audio in public, doing so in a public manner.

I have only ever been called a pig when I go to the Chinese Buffet for lunch.

I am not nor have I ever been a cop.

I have no immediate relatives who are cops... I do have an in-law and a cousin.

I have been arrested (once) and put in PC (once). The arrest was bogus... the PC was justified (somewhat). When I was put in PC they were not 'gentle' with me. At the time I thought it unfair... in retrospect I realize now why they were so harsh, violent, in putting me in cuffs. I didn't resist but was still slammed on a car and put in a painful arm-hold.

I have been ticketed many times... at least a few I think unfairly so.

I have also 'gotten off' from getting tickets... primarily because I was extremely polite and deferential.

You can call me what you want dave... but you'll be wrong.

Also... calling me a pig does not change the fact that you are a horse's ass.

Reread your words.

Only dirty cops protect dirty cops.

... and we've already established that you like to call "dirty cops" pigs.

Hence you are calling me a pig.

Of course you are wrong, as usual.

Not only am I not a dirty cop... I am also not a cop.

Nor am I even defending dirty cops.

I am defending cops in general and don't think it's right to call 4 out of 5 cops "pigs".
Which is what you are doing.

If you call dirty cops "pigs"... and you say 4 out of 5 cops are "dirty"... then by your own math, 4 out of every 5 cops are pigs.

Yeah, okay, I'll consider it when you apologize for threatening to give me a traumatic brain injury, among other threats of violence against my person about a year ago.

This just proves how unpatriotic a lot of these cops are. They claim to be Americans and yet have no tact or presence of mind to respect those that fought for their freedoms. I can't believe he is only seeking $500,000 in his case. He was unlawfully jailed and had his rights thrown out the window. They don't do that to murderers and yet he gets this treatment.

Let's see some more Dave.

Also, I will detail a bit of what happened one night on a ride along. I was on a ride along and the female officer got a call for someone brandishing a firearm. When we showed up they already had the guy in cuffs. He was mentally unstable and was quiet. He actually had a cap gun. One officer picked up the cap gun and started aiming around and talking like a pirate because the guy had clothes that were raggedy and looked piratey (yep a new word). They all started making fun of him and passing the gun around and playing with it. Even the sergeant (?) came and joined in. I was very unimpressed, they didn't beat on him but the level of professionalism was really low and gives the ones who try hard a bad name.
On a side note I went to a different department that was complaining about a fellow officer who was going giving other officers tickets. He was ticketing them when they brought their vehicles in and their trucks were too high. He said it was rude to park a vehicle in front of the police station that wasn't following regulation and then go ticket someone for the same thing. Sounds like a stand up guy to me.

Yeah bro, I was saying that you sound like it. Not that you are it. I'm worried for you. I'm very concerned for your well being. I just hope you don't turn to the dark side, because I thought we were just starting to become friends (despite your history of violent threats -- and apparent legal trouble for violent incidents).

There's guys like Richie Roberts out there. They're real salt of the earth. True examples to everyone else, guys I'm glad answer the call to protect and serve.

But the rank-and-file jack booted thugs in the police really need to either get run out of the departments or trained sufficiently to at least act with a modicum of restraint and professionalism. When our soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq by and large act with greater restraint and professionalism than our domestic police force, there's something seriously wrong. Also, the fact that we can do it overseas proves it's possible here while making the rising incident rate here all the more awful.

And when criticizing the police here in America, one shouldn't always have to provide the false equivocation of showing how there's just as many good cops as bad. That's demeaning to the victims of police abuse, and patronizing to good cops.
