Only 3 ties where an upset is even possible. If Bayern, Barce or Chelsea got knocked out with anyone be really that surprised? Ok, maybe Chelsea but they've been so bad this season that anything can happen.

if the bayern gets knocked out by arsenal I would be surprised, no doubt. They are the most impressive in europe in this post-superbarƧa era. In the past 4 years they were 3 times finalists, they might have won only 1 but we all know that 2 years ago they could ve played 50 times vs chelsea they would ve lost it only once... on penaltys lol!
There is something about arsenal that never convinces me. If I see them winning titles again I will think otherwise, but arsenal is always good without being good enough. They made a good start this season, but we're talking about games in march.

Only upsets that seem possible are City, Arsenal or Milan, possibly Galatasary. Chelsea have been unpredictable lately.

People forget last year that Arsenal were the only ones who gave Bayern a game and only lost on away goals plus they're better this season than last.

That Milan game could go either way, they could get beat 7-0 or they could win, neither would surprise me that much.

Milan is not even close to Atletico de Madrid level right now. You are going more with the name, but Milan hasn't been the same for 2 or 3 years now. The way they are playing, I wouldn't be surprised to see Atletico win the cup. They beat RM at Santiago Bernabeu.

City can score at home, that's obvious. They could outscore Barca. To be honest, that's the only upset I could see. As an Arsenal fan, I'm not really expecting an upset, but then again, no-one saw us beating them 2-0 in their own back yard....

Atletico will thrash Milan over the 2 legs.

You're right i'm going with history, are they the best team in Italy? No but they manage to do it in europe year after year regardless... on form it could be a thrashing but you never know. TBH i have no idea how they are performing so bad in the league becasue in the CL they were good, being in Celtics group i watched quite a bit of them.

come on; milan is light years away from the atletico right now. They are at their lowest... and remember last year... they won the first game 2-0 vs barcelona, everyone was like oh my god, milan is going to kick out barcelona!! but then 4-0 in the nou camp, hello my name is leo messi lol. The atletico this year is better than barƧa last year, and milan this year is worse than last year.

regarding arsenal beating bayern 2-0: to be fair, everyone thought that it was in the bag for bayern after the first leg, and same thing for the bayern players, not sure they were playing the second leg seriously.. we'll see, but i'd be more than happy if arsenal knocks them off!

Going through on away goals is as close as getting knocked out as you can get. That's why the tie is over two legs not one.

As for Milan, all logic says they should be beaten easily I agree but they always put up a fight. 4-2 against Barce doesn't look that bad...

i dont think milan will be wiped that easily. They are playing shit and atletico playing nice but at this level big teams like milan normally get a grip.

When i was a kid i remember so well a chamions final between barƧa and milan. everyone was saying that milan would be trashed easily. Final result 4-0 milan

i say 50-50

Milan should have lost and gone outta the competition... They were given a ridiculous penalty against Ajax in the first game in Amsterdam.. But oh well, UEFA would rather prefer popular names in the next round, and ofc Atl Madrid vs. Milan would get a lot more attention than Ajax vs. whoever.

Ha, so ajax with 4 champions leagues isn t a big name? That is just as much as barcelona, so i guess barcelona isn t a big name either! So many so called big clubs will not reach ajax's european trophie room ever! For a reminder, they are among the very few clubs wha have won all 3 european cups (champion s league, europa league and cup winner s cup). If i m not mistaken, these are the only ones who managed this: juventus, ajax, bayern, barcelona and new to the list... Chelsea!

Also, may i remind you that the atletico has won the europa league 2010 & 2012, and the european supercups 2010 & 2012 that go with it! They are experienced enough to go piss on san siro s gates.

Hmmmm, I could put £50 on each to advance. If I do that and there are not "upsets" I'd make £106.63 profit. So theoretically, I could afford 1 upset, possibly 2 and still make a profit. Odds for some are shocking. Real Madrid to qualify are 1/9 (or 1.11 in decimals).

No way the real madrid loses, if you want to make 10% profit...
But it s hard to judge in december what will happen in 3 month. Star player injury, series of bad results in domestic league and loss of confidence, or series of wins that change our perspective on a team..

History doesn't help. Ajax wouldn't get as much attention as Milan worldwide. I don't think there's any problem with Atletico.

Because ajax hasn t been doing anything spectacular in the past 15 years or so and they don t have the money to buy great players.. They create great players! It s a remarcable club that deserves a huge respect!

That's precisely my point.. It doesn't matter how respectful and hard worker you are. It's all about how much attention you could get to be able to sell your own game!

Ajax had their chance and lost away to Celtic, we were 20 times worse this year than last and getting to the group phase was the best we could hope for. Saying that they still would have needed a point in Milan but a point is a lot easier than 3. Best two team got out of the group imo.

I really can't see any way that Real, PSG, Man Utd or Dortmund lose.
