coup d'état: noun \ˌkü-(ˌ)dā-ˈtä, ˈkü-(ˌ)dā-ˌ, -də-\ : a sudden attempt by a small group of people to take over the government usually through violence
In this tournament, take over one of two sides:
1. The Rebels 2. The Government
Each team will start off with 8 players. Matchups will be randomly determined
Round 1: Each player on the rebel side will play a player from the government side on the map Siege! Losers are "killed."
Following Rounds: A remaining rebel player will be paired with a remaining government player. Losers are "killed," until one team has no players. Each round there may not be an even number of players, so there may be randomly assigned byes given out.
Once One Team has Won:
If the rebels find success in their Coup, they fight over the "leadership" position in a 3 game series on classic. If "n" is the number of players remaining, then winner of each game wins n points, 2nd gets n-1 and so on until the first eliminated gets 1 point. If there is a tie, amount of wins is tie breaker, then amount of runner-ups and so on.
If the government defends against the coup, then doubles teams will be made as a President and Vice-President try to garner support in the upcoming election. If there are an odd number left over, a game on classic will be used with the first eliminated being eliminated from the tourney. After that 3 doubles games on US Senate will be played, with identical scoring system to that above. The winning doubles team then must duke it out on a 1 game battle on Siege!
Maps will be used in the following order for the remaining rounds until revolution ends: Luxembourg Doodle Earth Circus Maximus Classic Cities: London Cyprus Montreal (repeat if needed, but I HIGHLY doubt it.)
