CC Dispatch [121] Chats, Whams, Suggs, Medals, Wow!

Greetings, comrades, and welcome to the 121st issue of the Conquer Club Dispatch!

Wow! What an issue this is! We have just so much happening all at once!

Just a brief sampling:
  • In our new Officialdom section, the Webmaster (or Webmonster, as he prefers to be known) brings us the view from the command deck. This is bigWham's first appearance in the Dispatch since January 7th!
  • In Current Recon, the Head Chatter (or is that Chattering Head?) trinicardinal brings you a complete tutorial on the new Global Chat system!
  • ALSO in Current Recon, JamesKer1 brings you the first in a new series of articles about the Suggestions team!
  • In the Cartography section, the brand new Foundry Foreman describes the coup which brought him into office.
  • ALSO in Cartography (do you get the impression that I love the word "Also"?), the second installment of dakky21's Guess The Map contest! The Guess The Map contest has already reached the 75-player target, and become the most successful contest in Dispatch history!
  • The Mess Hall section contains the second installment in jak111's Mafia Trivia contest, as well as the Honour Roll of Dispatch contributors who have recently been recognised.
  • The War Games section is our Encyclopaedia Tournaementia with all the usual features -- this month's Tournament winners, the TPA update, and the Dispatch's longest-running feature, "Join This? Or Not!"

Note: Due to the extreme number of questions that were posted in our Interrogation of ChrisPond, the answers will not be available until issue 122. The following may have been a prescient post:Subject: Conquer Club Dispatch Interrogation - ChrisPond
Fulch wrote:After you submit your answers, do you think the mods will discuss a word limit for future dispatches?

We hope you enjoy the many articles below!

Greetings from The Deck Of The Webmonster by bigWham
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Image

Greetings from The Deck Of The Webmonster.

*The Scene On The Deck*

Dukasaur had wanted the title 'From The Desk Of The Webmaster', but I don't go for that type of absurdist rhetoric. He also suggested something personal and direct, whereas my style is more akin to a quixotic stream of psychotic ramblings. So, this is likely to be ill-fated from the get-go, and if you are reading this, it is likely that either Dukasaur or I are dead. If the Dispatch keeps coming and there are less problems with the website... then it is probably me.

Aside from penning this dainty little article, a lot of my focus recently has been on enhancing CC's cultivation of new players. Historically this has always been a great challenge... no matter how much we all love CC once we get to know it, new players have a very different experience. In many ways the things a new player is seeking may be the exact opposite of what regular players want. But while this makes that part of my job very difficult, it doesn't mean I can't also do some stuff that the regular folks out there may enjoy...

*Random Feature Special*

Hey ya'll - welcome to my RFS! This time I am featuring Live Action http://www.conquerclub.com/public.php?mode=action a little page that was thrown together a while ago to give a running feed of stuff happening RIGHT NOW on CC. Check it out, and see if you can create some news!

*Awesome New Feature*

Global Chat - Super-excited to bring Global Chat to the community. For the first time ever CC will have a persistent, ubiquitous channel for universal communication - yes, chat from every page, to every player, at every time! Well, that is the vision... we are rolling it out in stages. For the deets of this check out here.

*Coming Up In The Club*

New Conquer Club Store - This will feature the ability to purchase Premium in smaller increments than 12 months, as well purchasing inventory items. There will however be a "cost-of-living" price increase, since it has been quite a while since the last one.

Unleash the Bots - Yes, they are coming! Now that they have multiplayer games to play, and Global Chat to get stuff off their chest, there will be more bots arriving on our shores quite soon! And if you want to join Team Bot before they take us over, you can have a run at our Bot Naming contest (oh yes, coming soon!)
World of Chat: Going Global! by trinicardinal
Welcome to the World of Chat. This is the first of a series in which we’ll try to give you a greater insight into the world of the Chat rooms. It seems fitting that we start our series with, not just a new insight into chat but a completely new chat altogether!

Introducing Global Chat! Global Chat is a simple chat that is viewable in many different sections of the site. Once it’s on you will be able to see it and chat anywhere in the Game pages, while viewing your ratings, checking your stats or even from Live Chat.

Why haven’t we made an announcement for this? Well that’s because we are still testing to be sure that the site can handle the load and it won’t slow down your games. We don’t want to bring it on for everyone and suddenly find that you can’t play games… so we’re phasing it in to make sure the servers can handle the load. Because of this it isn’t automatically turned on for you.

With all that being said let’s get you chatting on Global Chat. Its currently turned off by default so we hopefully won’t get overwhelmed. In time it will be on by default but you can always turn it off if you don’t want it. For now… let’s get you turned ON!
Under the Personal Menu go to Settings, look at the bottom of the Settings options (Under Chat Settings) and set 'Show Global Chat' to 'Yes'.

Now you’re talking… or at least you can… you haven’t actually said anything yet right? Here are a few things to note before you actually start to type.
You are still responsible for what you say in global chat and are expected to stay within the site and chat guidelines. These can be found here. Violation of the guidelines can lead to you being blocked or banned from Global and Live Chat. WARNING: Posting of things such as Bigotry or links to pictures/sites containing nudity or porn are likely to be considered a major violation of Chat guidelines and can lead to an immediate ban from Chat.

There are certain words that are blocked from Global Chat. If your message contains one or more of those words the entire message will be blocked from posting. You’ll have to delete the offending word or words and then post your message.

If you find that there is any user that you don’t want to see chat for, you can mute that user. This does not stop the user from posting but it will block you from seeing messages posted by that user. While chatting you will also notice that the bots occasionally drop a comment or 3 but they can also be muted if you do not wish to see their comments. To mute a user, click on the user’s name in Global Chat and then click on Mute, as illustrated in the example below.

Image

Image

Image

You will see their name appear in your muted box below and then you won’t see any more comments from them until you un-mute them or log off and back in. To un-mute them click on the little x next to their name in your Muted list.

The names of some chat moderators will show as yellow. These are the ones whose names are coloured purple on their walls. All other moderator names as well as regular usernames will show as white. Please follow any instructions etc from the chat moderators.

Remember that this is a basic chat so formatting of text in different styles and colours etc are not yet possible. Nor do links post as clickable links. These are options that may be implemented in the future but are not yet available. The only pictures that will currently show are a scaled down version of each user’s avatar (shown next to their name). Hopefully in time this will also change.

Sometimes while you have Global Chat open you might wish to hide it so you can see more of the page that you're on. To do so click on the Chat bar on the left side of the Global Chat and it will slide away. To open it back click on it again and it will reopen.

Unfortunately at this time it is not possible to get Global Chat while in the Forums and that is something that should be changed at a future date. I can’t say when exactly though since this will be up to bigwham who is pretty busy with other aspects of the site.

FAQ’s

Q. Why doesn’t this chat have features for posting text in bold, italics or colours?

A. Please keep in mind that this is a simple chat program that bigwham has written for the site to allow you greater communication in different areas of the site. As a result is not feature rich but will, in time, be improved so you can go ahead with your suggestions for improvement as well.

Q. Why are there no time-stamps for when messages are posted.

A. Again because this is a basic chat time-stamps are not yet included. This is expected to be included in a future update.

Q. Can I mute myself?

A. No you can’t…. do you really not want to see your own comments? We didn’t think so either

Q. Can I block/ban a user from Global Chat?

A. Only Chat moderators can block/ban a user but you can mute a user so you won’t see his/her comments (mute works for bots also)

Q. How long will my mute last?

A. The user will remain muted for you until you either un-mute them or you log off.

Q. My messages won’t post, I get “Message cannot be posted”. Did my chat break?

A. Your message may contain words that are not allowed to be posted in Global Chat because they may be Bigoted or otherwise offensive. Try posting a different message. If that still doesn’t work you’re either still being too profane/bigoted or you have been blocked/banned from Global Chat.

Q. I don’t see my posts but I’m not getting any error messages

A. Your chat may not have automatically scrolled with the messages. Try scrolling down.

Q. I’ve tried scrolling as you suggested but Its not scrolling further down and I still don’t see my messages. Why are they not posting?

A. Your messages may actually be posting but for some reason your chat hasn’t shown updated posts… try reloading the page or opening a new page.

Q. Why can’t I see global Chat from the Forums?

A. The Forums and some other pages are on a different template to the other site pages. Unfortunately this makes it difficult to integrate Global Chat into those pages at this time.

Q. A user has violated the guidelines but a moderator is not there or did not deal with it properly.

A. If you have a problem with a user’s posts or a moderator’s treatment of a situation please take screenshots of the violation/problem and send them to the Head Chatter (currently trinicardinal) along with your explanation of the situation. It can then be investigated and appropriately dealt with.
Suggestions Section- Index and Features! by JamesKer1
Greetings!

The Suggestions Team is very proud to introduce the Suggestions Index!

What does this mean?

The Suggestions Index, a concept originally started by agentcom, is a monstrous project that has been behind the scenes, making a display for all suggestions, old and new, submitted and rejected, and anything in between. Please note that we have not been able to cram all 6000 suggestions into one place (hopefully you don't expect that of us), but we have done our best to accept the monumental task of doing so. We are hoping that this Index makes it easier for players to find suggestions from 2006 as well as those at the present, bringing back to life some of the best we have come up with. We are also trying to provide an easier way for the big guys to access suggestions they may like and get some inspiration from those.

The link is available HERE, or you can simply go to the Suggestions Forum and access it!

Happy Thinking!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Suggestions Team is also excited to introduce a new section for the CC Newsletter, featuring suggestions of all kinds, young and old, that have or have had popular interest! Our first one is below:

Over the years, the Suggestions Team has been blessed to have many users coming up with fantastic suggestions. Sadly, some of these suggestions get covered up by time, although they are or were popular. So today, the Suggestions Team would like to recognize and spotlight some of the contributions of dakky21, for amazing ideas dating back to 2008!

Co-Operative Play (2008) (also known as Unimorphic Games or Co-op)- This suggestions is essentially a reverse of polymorphic games, allowing for two or more players to play as the same color. This setting would require lots of trust in teammates, however, it could be very well worth the effort!

Total Random Games (2014)- This suggestion allows for all randomized settings- not just a map. But, it also allows you to "pick-and-choose" whichever settings you want randomized, to safeguard against terrible combinations or allow some variance to the games.

Shared Regions (2014) [XML]- This is a fantastic suggestion for everyone involved in the mapmaking process. This is a very intricate suggestion, but would open a gateway for those in the mapmaking community!

Thank you again to dakky21 for all of your creative juices and contribution to the suggestions process throughout the years!
Incremental Improvement by Dukasaur et al
In Issue 120 I challenged our readers to write their own late-breaking news section and identify the biggest new feature released last month. The winner was dakky21 with his answer:Subject: CC Dispatch [Issue 120] Two Contests, Mafia Back, UI Update

dakky21 wrote:A lot of bugs introduced? (just kidding) :-)

I guess the biggest feature is - Global chat!

However, there were a lot of other good guesses:
iAmCaffeine wrote:The updates I've noticed so far:
  • Highlight over all buttons
  • New PM rolls
  • Live Chat changed to Chat Rooms
  • Are the quick links to My Games | Purchase | Terms Of Use | Privacy Policy | Rules new?
  • Referral program has it's own tab?

That's all I've got for now.

Edit: The button highlight includes the ready/waiting/playing buttons next to a player's name in a game, just to clarify. Also, there is an in-game animation for rank changes. Not just New PM button rolling, but Post Reply, New Topic etc. all of that style.

Tazzy_J wrote:Are you referring to the text floating to the cursor on maps when attacking, reinforcing etc?

jackal31 wrote:the "rolling" of the buttons when passing over them with the mouse pointer.

stealth99 wrote:The champions Conquest Opens?

stealth99 wrote:Would it be the visual effects that occur in many screens. In the rating screen when you click on 5 stars, the others lite up in sequence quickly. I just won a star and the graphics for that have changed and they roll up in video as opposed to one screen image to the next. Lame i know but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Also, Beta Bucks Introduced and/or Olympic medals Introduced.

j1mathman wrote:you shrink down the broswer width-wise and it shows "club" instead of "community"?

Edit: and "Live Action" "Action Stream" under community?
I see Ats playing 2 speed games right now. impressive for poly(2) lol.

Dako wrote:Clans got tons of new stuff - All Clans, Clan Wars, Clan Leagues, Featured Games. Tournaments got Featured Games as well.
I don't rememebr if Maps were updated before or not but they have new UI as well.

Killer4 wrote:A bit of a shot in the dark since I only started playing again recently; but the stats, snapshot (or maybe analyse in snapshot) when you are looking at Live Action games? (I only see it when I'm logged out though, is that a premium thing?)

bamage wrote:The Continents Overview with its nifty bonus highlighting?

Thank you for all your answers!

It really blows your mind just how many incremental changes are being made all the time. Sometimes there are big new features being rolled out, but often it's little tiny things. The way things are going on Conquer Club are truly mind-blowing. It really is more like evolution than intelligent design. Sometimes there is a radical new change, but other times tiny incremental changes are being made. Some work really well and stay, others turn out to be failures and eventually get dumped. Some of them are new features, but most are just bug fixes or tweaks to existing systems. But all the time, the system gets better and better. The Panels, so clunky and unintuitive at first, have been improved steadily. Almost every week something about them gets better looking, more functional, less buggy, and in general more responsive.

There's no shortage of people asking, "why aren't the changes being reliably documented?" The simple answer is that there just isn't anyone who can. BigWham is the only one who knows everything he's doing, but as he points out, he needs to keep his nose to the grindstone and keep programming. Every minute that he's writing documentation is a minute that he's not programming, and that is a minute that we are falling short of becoming the sleek and sexy new CC that will finally start to grow again. The rest of us do what we can, but the changes are just so fast and furious that nobody can keep on top of them all.

I'm very involved, but I don't know most of what's going on. I'm not sure when the bots became animated. I know at some point they were static, and now they dance while taking their turn, but I'm not sure when it happened. I don't know when the "next game" link in the Overview panel got fixed. I know at one point it was full of bugs, and now it works fine, but I'm not sure when and how it happened. I'm not sure when the problem with panels re-setting got fixed. At one point it was a big hassle, and then one day I realized that it had been weeks since I had to re-organise my panels, but I of course don't know how many weeks. That's the way it so often is with bug fixes. You don't always realize something has been fixed when it happens, but one day you realize that something which used to be a problem hasn't bothered you lately, and suddenly you realize that someone must have fixed it, but you don't know when and how.

So, we are trying our best to use the Dispatch to bring you current information about things. The articles by trinicardinal and BigWham and JamesKer1 in this issue represent a concerted effort to give you as much information as possible about new and upcoming features. However, there will still be times when I will have a "write your own news section" issue, because there is so much more that could be written.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in this mini-contest last time!

Firefox 31, BOB, and You by Dukasaur
A huge number of people have been on the forums reporting problems with Firefox 31 and some of the add-on scripts that CC players know and love, like BOB.

BOB (and many other greasemonkey scripts) will not run in Firefox 31. You essentially have 2 choices:
  1. Give up on BOB, and start running Panel Mode with its built-in BOB-like features; or
  2. revert to Firefox 30.

Personally, I'm a fan of giving up on BOB. Yes, Panel Mode still does not have all the features that BOB used to, and it is still a bit buggy in places, but it improves steadily. It's already as good as BOB at some things, and better at others. Most of the early bugs have been worked out, and although some remain, overall it's a steady platform to work from. There is nobody maintaining BOB, and as time goes on it will fall further and further behind.

But anyway, that's your choice. If you do want to stay with BOB, you need to roll back to Firefox 30. In order to do that, you must first disable Automatic Updates in Firefox, or it will simply re-update itself to Firefox 31 the moment you shut down.

So, first go to your top bar in Firefox, click Tools > Options > select the Updates tab > select either of the updates (either Check or Never) which is not "Automatically check".

Once automatic updates are off, you are ready to roll back to Firefox 30. One common place to find it is: http://www.v3.co.uk/articles/download_thanks/2035647#thanks (Thanks to ElrictheGreat) but you can always do your own search at your favourite download site. Rolling back to Firefox 30 should allow your BOB to keep working, at least for now.
Coup d'eDerp by RedBaron0
The Foundry
Gilligan is no more. His reign of evil tyranny is over. I, RedBaron0 have dispatched him to the fiery depths from whence he came. From this vacuum of power I have boldly strode into the light and taken his place, by force. There will now be changes in the Foundry.
  1. All Beta maps will be deleted. Beta radiation is the number one cause of cancer in this country and I will no longer be a part of its dissemination to the masses.
  2. thenobodies80 will now be known as thesomebodies80, because he's special and needs to be recognized as a 'somebody'
  3. All maps rewards will include a basket of assorted muffins. Muffins are delicious.
  4. New map ideas will be required to have one of the following themes:
      Puppies
      Kittens
      Outer Space Aliens
      Ponies
      GI Joes
      Barbie & Ken
      Bacon
      Muffins
All other ideas will be scoffed at and then promptly deleted.
  5. The next generation of maps will all be animated allowing for in inclusion of youtube videos to be played within the game itself. Bonuses will determined by the subject matter of the video being played. +50 troops per second for any video relating to PFUDOR
  6. All maps made before 2012 will be deleted, bigWham is a class 5 hoarder and his intervention is next week.
  7. The only map available to be played for Gilligan forever is "Island of Doom" This is where his exile begins: Gilligan's Island of Doom.
  8. The Foundry forums will have live music from now on, no rap or country music allowed.
  9. All maps looking for a gameplay stamp must first defeat me in a game of Operation. I must be satisfied that a mapmaker has significant gameplay knowledge before proceeding with their ideas.
  10. iancanton must not go on vacation from the site for an entire year. Seriously, this guys jetsets all over the freaking world...
  11. All other Foundry team members not previously mentioned will be replaced by bunnies.... Playboy bunnies. Like I need to explain this one.
  12. All previously mentioned maps that were deleted will receive a consolation showcase from the Price is Right game show.(assuming they don't overbid) Everyone deserves a chance at living room furniture, a grill, and a trip to Wilmington Delaware.
  13. All maps will rotate on the screen in your relation to true north, or south if you live in the southern hemisphere. One must understand their true direction and place on the surface of the Earth to play this game correctly.
  14. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, more muffins? Cuz........ I'm hungry!
  15. Foundry Cartography Bunnies will strictly enforce all new policy and procedures.
I have spoken.
Guess the Map -- Round 2 by dakky21
.
The first installment of this contest was a huge success! 75 players attempted the challenge, a stunning number which we are not accustomed to seeing in our contests! Let's hope this is a sign of things to come!
:D

In this second installment, the difficulty level goes up a notch. Enjoy!

Image
In this contest, you will identify Conquer Club maps by small samples extracted from them. Look in the circles, see if you can spot what map that image is extracted from, and PM to dakky21. There will be 10 rounds with 9 images each, for a maximum score of 90. The images will gradually become more difficult as the issues move on.

  • You must PM your answers to dakky21. Please do not answer by posting in the thread or PMing to anyone else. Only answers sent to dakky21 will be official.
  • Answers to each issue's quiz must be sent within ten days after the actual publication date.
  • Minor typos will be overlooked. If you mean "Jamaica" and you type "Jamiaca" that's fine. HOWEVER, we are not finishing your thought for you: there is both a Baltic States and a Baltic Crusades. If you just type "Baltic" that is a WRONG answer, because it would require us to finish the thought and decide between Crusades and States.
  • Points will be cumulative over the 10 issues.
  • Depending on interest, the 10th round may carry bonus images and/or bonus points.
  • In case of a tie at the end of the contest, dakky21 will PM a supplementary tiebreaking list of extremely difficult images.
  • Please format your answers as follows:Number dot space Name of Map
    (Example:
      1. Jamaica
      2. USA
      3. Austerlitz
Prizes:
  • First place 2000 credits
  • Second place 1000 credits
  • Third place 625 credits
  • Top five contestants get a GA medal.
  • To qualify for any of the above prizes, you must score at least 35 points over the course of the contest.
  • If and only if we get 25 or more contestants, we will have a random draw for a 6th GA medal.
  • If and only if we get 75 or more contestants, the top player will get a Challenge Medal in addition to other prizes.
Editor's note: we got the 75 in our first installment!
  • Every issue the top contestant will get one or more Conquer Stars. Just like everything else about the stars, this is shrouded in mystery, so there's no telling what kind of star you will get! Drab? Auburn? Pink? A box of 50 Auburns? Wouldn't you like to know? This star prize can only be won once, so if you win it in week 1 and you are the top contestant in week 2 again, the prize in week 2 will go to the second place contestant, and so on down the list.

Hello friends, and welcome to your favourite part of the Newsletter, "War Games", where you can find information about CC Tournaments, and other stuff in the Tournament scene!

We say goodbye and many thanks for all his contributions to mcshanester29 though I have no doubt that he will be continuing in many other areas of CC activities. Many thanks mate!

In this edition of War Games we continue to deliver our news staples with jdean1's pick of the tournaments with his Join This? or Not! and my update of TPA happenings in TPA Wrap. Our leader and mentor, Dukasaur, has briefly returned to article writing with his Those Magic Moments which every Tournament Organiser has experienced after their first tournament. Ah....takes me back .............

Have you a favourite tournament? Was there one that you enjoyed so much that you want it rerunning? If so, you can participate in jdean1's Top Tourneys which is a new series of articles just for you!

Good Reading and Good Luck!
And now for our regular look at a selection of the tournaments in sign-ups:

Flonkerton (CC Olympics): http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=206589
This is one of the few larger tournaments that are player run in the CC Olympics event. This particular one holds a special place in my heart. The Office is a fantastic show, and my favorite episode is the Office Olympics. Flonkerton is a hilarious event, and sounds fantastic. Play on Iceland and USA Northeast in a heavy load of 12 games. So go and join elonpuckhog's rendition while earning a medal for your nation, usergroup and self! See you on the podium!

This, but if you don't like any of these go to the Create/Join a Tournament or Tournaments Tab and take a look at the many others waiting to be filled.

If you're craving tourney action now, check out the Requests for Immediate Players section of the tournament forum. You can be playing very quickly after signing up as a reserve
Those Magic Moments by Dukasaur et al
Recently I decided to ask TOs about their sense of excitement when they first began organising. I remember how magical and mystical it all seemed to me when I first began, and I was curious how others felt.

Here are some answers from JohnAarson, therev1957, poptartpsycho18, jdean1, Darin44, Fuzzy316, cooldeals, elonpuckhog, General Bax, and BluU. Thank you all for your excellent responses!

JohnAarson wrote:Certainly, mate. :)

It's difficult to choose one special moment in particular from my early tournaments, since Tournament Organization has been so liberating for me in terms of creativity. Maybe the moment would be when I first started recieving praises for my tournaments. The feedback from the community has always been one of the key factors of motivation for me to go on. I like immensely to create tournaments and the fact that I know that I'm not doing that only for myself but also to bring more fun and competition to the CC community is an amazing feel.

therev1957 wrote:Yes!!! Finally organized my first tournament...And it was easy!

poptartpsycho18 wrote:That special moment/feeling that motivated me to begin running tourneys is the exact same reason that I run them still; that need to provide a unique experience for those of us that have become jaded with the usual games over time, to take players on a roller-coaster of a ride the will make it so that the winner really worked to win my tournament and the pride of having my vision become a reality. I wanted to see if the wacky ideas that I have resonated with enough people that I could start a tourney and to see that I wasn't alone in my kookiness, that someone out there "got it". I took a break for a while (about 2 years) but when I came back it wasn't long before I just HAD to start up a few more tournaments and once again that feeling came over me.

Running a tourney is almost like how a mother describes childbirth: the pain, the frustration and the anguished cries of "What the hell was I thinking? When will this end??" that accompany the labor is all but forgotten when you finish up a successful tourney, you look at what you've accomplished and then you see the impact you have had on a player's experience. Of course it's at this point that you swear you'll never do it again but then you get a great idea in the middle of the night, you start the thread and then the next day when you realize what you have taken on you wonder, AGAIN, what the hell you were thinking. In my opinion, the reason we organizers dedicate ourselves to providing these experiences is so that we can somehow recapture the incredible high of our first tourney success.

jdean1 wrote:The creativity and fun they created. It was like discovering Conquer Club all over again and brought a new level to play and interact with. It made me feel like I fit in with the tournament community.

Darin44 wrote:Have players sign up to play in them. than it was how fast to get them to sign up, on the 1v1 16 player games. 64 8player games it was just running them.Back than it was the love of the game.I played all the time 6 to 8 hr a day around 100 to 200 games. now maybe 20 games.

Fuzzy316 wrote:For me, it was when after running a few tourneys, people became excited about playing in my tourneys, and as a result, they would fill up rather quickly, allowing me to run multiple tourneys at a time. At the time I liked the challenge of running anywhere from 3-10 tourneys at once.

cooldeals wrote:Winning the first one. Getting that first medal and message in my inbox.

elonpuckhog wrote:For me, its the thrill of coming up with a new idea and then having people enter the tourney. I typically design tournies around maps I want to play and so having people enter those tournies is fun.

General Bax wrote:getting the first tournament organizer medal. :D

BluU wrote:I won the tournament and obviously medal didn't show up right away on my trophy self.
I had to send a message to the TO after few days, to ask him what is the procedure.
Finally receiving that first trophy was very exciting

As a service to CC, I ran a test. It appears the only words banned in the side chat are the same words banned on live chat. To recap, those are:

f*ck
c*nt
[words deleted -- Mod Edit]

You're welcome,
