Congratulations to the Emperor of Aule - molespe
Details:
Amidst a series of uprisings throughout the Known World , the power of the High King is waning.
Having developed a range of fearsome weapons during recent times of peace, perhaps now is your chance to rally your troops and depose the High King.
The local seer has prophecised that the occupation of the High King will soon come to an end, and that your people will rule the Known World with a mightier empire. The seer's prophetic vision included an image of someone very much resembling yourself as an Emperor.
Is it your Destiny to become Emperor?
This tournament is another in a series of Short Terminator tournaments.
It is open to all players with a decent attendance record (see below).
Freemiums welcome (although three-games-at-a-time).
Tournament Format
[spoiler]Initial Stage
In Phase I, 20 players will undertake 3 battles in 4 groups of 5 competitors.
In each battle, the winning competitor will score 2 points. All players will also score 1 point for each termination.
The top 2 competitors* from each group will progress to the next round.
Third-placed competitors* will play-off against a 3rd-placed player from another group with the winner progressing.
Second Stage
In Phase II, 10 players will undertake 3 battles in 2 groups of 5 competitors.
In each battle, the winning competitor will score 2 points. All players will also score 1 point for each termination.
The top 2 competitors* from each group will progress to the next round.
Third-placed competitors* will play-off against the 3rd-placed player from the other group with the winner progressing.
Final Stage
In the Final Phase, 5 competitors will undertake 3 battles.
Points scoring will be as above (points are reset to 0).
The competitor with most points will be declared the Winner and High King.
In the event of competitors finishing with equal points, a tie-break battle will be played.
* In Phases I & II, if points do not determine automatic and play-off quaifiers then competitors will also be compared on the number of terminations, then number of rounds survived in the phase in question. If this does not prove to determine qualifying competitors then a tie-break battle will occur. In the event of a tie-break of more than 2 players determining more than 1 qualifying position, points, number of terminations, then order of elimination will be considered (i.e. last surviving players). Settings
[spoiler]Fog of War will be present in all battles due to minimal military intelligence on Aule, and surprise attacks.
Given the limited speed of cavalry, chained reinforcements will be applicable.
Escalating spoils will be in place due to the rapidly accelerating popularity and recruitment methods of the battling warlords.

Competitor Requirements
[spoiler]There will be 20 competitors.
Competitors must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Fremiums allowed but 3 slots must be available at all times.
Competitors will have 24 hours to join their battles from when the joining invite is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).[/spoiler]
Group Allocation
[spoiler]Competitors will be allocated groups according to random.org for the first stage.[/spoiler]
Reserves
[spoiler]All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place.
For the first stage, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.
In the final stage, reserves will be drawn from competitors eliminated from the previous stage (initially to the competitor finishing 4th in the group from which the missing player came (in the case of play-offs), or from the first losing play-off competitor to respond (in the case of a group stage), then from the first competitor finishing in 3rd or 4th place to respond, then from the first of any knocked-out competitor to respond).[/spoiler]
Joining Battles
[spoiler]Competitors will be sent an invite when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.[/spoiler]
Missing Turns
[spoiler]If a player misses a turn then he cannot score any points in the game in question. If a player deadbeats at any stage then he will be ejected from the tournament.
Players must contact the Tournament Organiser by PM to alert him to any indiscretions of the rule.[/spoiler]
Partnerships / Regular opponents
[spoiler]Competitors must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then ensure these competitors do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players.
If reports of suspected foul play are made and the competitors in question have not declared that they are regular partners / opponents then they will be both be ejected from the tournament without question or the need for irrefutable evidence.[/spoiler]
First Turn Fog of War Courtesy Rule
[spoiler]Where Fog of War is present, the competitor who goes first in round 1 must either wait 10 hours before taking their turn, or inform their opponent(s) in game chat of any regions conquered during their first move, and where from. Failure to do either will mean the competitor in question is unable to score any points in the game.
If the turn is taken within 10 hours but no regions are conquered then no information need be left.
