We're getting nowhere.

I don't see anything moving us forward, and I feel that the debate has been exhausted. Barring a crazy development, I'm voting Doom later today.

Okay a few things as a final attempt at preventing doom's lynch for this day:

1) Nag - I believe Doom wanted to lynch you when he still thought that killing Gary would free his pokemon. I feel that that isn't the case anymore. Also I told him how sure I am that you are not Gary, and well I'd like to think that that will influence his decision. 8-[ 8-[

2) Skittles' summary works as a summary of all my posts too. The bottom line is when you have someone that most of town agree is a 3rd party you do not lynch him prematurely unless his danger far outweighs that of scum. That is not the case here. At least there is no way we can know he's that dangerous to WP after only 1 night. Why are some of you so sure that he will only kill WPs? All we need to do is WAIT to lynch him another day. Today having him alive gives us far greater control of night action results. All WP HAVE TO DO EITHER DEFEND OR ATTACK SOMEONE THEY THINK IS SCUM (NOT DOOM). That gives us the lynch for a shot at killing TR, and also maximizes the number of potential night targets that could flip TR.
Scenario 1: Doom lives through the night, we lynch someone else, our night actions hit a few other likely candidates, decent chance at killing TR. Some WP die. Depending on results, we either kill Doom day 3, or we repeat and lynch day 4.
Scenario 2: Doom gets killed (by TR or Gary), we lynch someone else, our night actions hit a few other likely candidates, TR/Gary do not kill WP because they use their action to kill Doom. Some WP die (likely less than scenario 1).
Scenario 3: Doom gets lynched, our night actions hit a number of likely candidates, TR kills WP, Gary captures WP, smaller number of 'unknown' deaths = smaller chance of TR kill, More WP die (than scenario 1 + 2).

3) Apart from Nag and Kwanton (who I trust) - the people voting for doom are scummier than those not voting for him. This maybe a bit of a tongue-in-cheek kinda reason, but it was one of the reasons why I voted for fircoal. There is some wisdom with following those you've trusted, at the very least it creates solidarity. Our best chances of survival are to end the game faster, and the best way to do that is for WP's to stick together and attempt to manipulate the night actions (as best as possible with our limited knowledge/powers). Maybe not by naming targets as that will make them act accordingly, but definitely by controlling the lynch at least.

@BuJaber: Scenario 4: Doom isn't MewTwo but a TR trainer, he gets lynched and all captured TR pokemon die with him. WP stay alive and win with Gary when real MewTwo is found.

Let me tell you what I think is more probable than that: Mandy being Mewtwo. Day 2 ends with no lynch. The players who were eliminated get back into the game. CC closes down tomorrow.

:)

I have never been so sure of something I have no evidence for. But congratulations dakky looks like you might end up winning the day's discussion. Even though theoretically I should have more people on my side than you considering how many WP there should still be alive. Ragian did not succumb to the bandwagons of day 1 after 40+ pages, but is now seemingly willing to lynch doom.

I had fun. But if we're both alive on day 3 I don't know if I have the energy to argue this much again. Actually should be pretty straightforward. We just lynch one of the people that lynched the non-TR doom. Just gotta wonder if it won't be too late.

You're acting like Doom himself. Cry cry cry "they will ruin my game"... ruin WTF. You can still win as WP or with TR or Gary even if you're recruited. I just don't get all the crying going around. What, you never played mafia and you were never recruited? what? WP can win and will win with their factions or on their own. Really, I just don't get all the crying about being captured.

Sorry. I ended up busy over Sunday after all. We're at a point where all the WPs attacking is only going to shorten the game. I'll try to put something together quickly but I only have access to a phone right now so it might take a bit.

Yep. Ragian is. Yesterday, I didn't believe in the cases. I feel much better about this one. Doom's flavour play aside, he's still a loose cannon. Moreover, where is the alternative case? It's not like this is rushed at all. We need to get something done at least. Some people are sitting on one vote on someone else crying bloody murder. You're the only one trying.

Let's move this game forward. Please.

So my reread of hotshot is less condemning than I expected. His early posts were little and indecisive and his vote on Kwan for the reasons i stated and he followed felt a bit hypocritical considering his own lack of content but have be come more relevant since the game became more serious towards the end of day one. His posts did dwindle for a while suggesting a switch in scum tactic of posting more content but less in volume as he thought it over but this also coincided with a busy time he mentioned that would be bad for him. I'm hesitant to bequeath a town read on him but I don't find him as scummy as I initially felt as a lot of hat he wrote that still appears scummy could be attributed more to caution as a survivor condition than necessarily scummy.

Posting now to make sure I at least get something said.

This here story that I'm about to unfold took place during the Indigo League, when Professor Oak sent all those pokemon and all those trainers to fight each other until only a few were left standing. And I only mention this because sometimes there's a pokemon...and I won't say a hero, 'cause what's a hero...sometimes there's a pokemon...and I'm talking about DoomYoshi here...sometimes there's a pokemon...and he's just the right pokemon for his time and place.

Unless he gets lynched, that is.

The second morning has dawned on the Kanto region and the surviving pokemon were shocked to discover just how many of them have perished over night. Although one of the victims was the sharp-clawed Skoffin of Team Rocket, the sheer number of wild pokemon slayed confronted each remaining pokemon with the sobering realization of his own mortality. The conversation was hushed as the surviving pokemon tried to figure out how to finish bring the League to a speedy conclusion and, if possible, survive to claim victory.

All except one.

Irritated by the meekness of his fellow pokemon and unable to keep quite any longer, DoomYoshi leaped on a big boulder.

Image

ā€œYou gentle and cowardly sheep!ā€, he cried, ā€œhow much longer are you going to shuffle around, waiting for either death or, worse, slavery to befall you!ā€

ā€œStand up and fight and I will stand up with you! We shall succeed!ā€, he started singing.

Image

The other pokemon were stunned. Since the league has begun they have tried to keep their profile's as low as possible to avoid drawing attention of either bloodthirsty lynch-mob or one of the stealthy killers lurking in the night. Who was this purple guy with his brazen behaviour and his exquisite taste in music? This must be some kind of Team Rocket trick! Is he possessed? Who are we going to lynch today?

Emboldened, DoomYoshi tried to inspire the further. He spoke harshly against the exploitative nature of the Trainers and the treachery of Team Rocket. He boasted how he is more powerful then those puny humans and promised to protect his fellow pokemon, defeat their common enemies and lead them to the Promised Land.

Meanwhile, the pokemon were still debating whom they are going to lynch. It begun to slowly dawn on them that, if they all agree on lynching DoomYoshi, then at least each of them is going to be safe from the noose for a day.

Despite DoomYoshi's protestations, they pulled him off the boulder and hung him from the nearest tree.

NIGHT 2 has begun, Mets would you, please, lock the thread again.

Indigo League Mafia/RPG Final Scene

Postby mandalorian2298 on Sat Jan 14, 2017 8:42 am

I love you guys too much to make you wait for the unlocking so:

THE FINAL SCENE

ā€œNight 2, Midnight

One day, I am sure of it, young pokemon are going to look back at this time as the age of legendary heroes and fantastic battles. After all, it is in our nature to create myths out of the Past, regardless of the intrinsic quality that it possessed when it was still called ā€œPresentā€.

A heartless or a sceptic man (or pokemon) might take the previous passage and use it as a proof that all that is good and noble about our everyday struggles is a mear illusion and a product of wishful thinking but we must fully reject such ignoble defeatism if we are hoping to evolve and transcend our evolutionary stage of cute fighting beasts. This is what DoomYoshi was trying to tell us, I am almost sure of that.

Ryhorn and Staryu, in whose company I have found myself earlier this evening, rejected the discussion of this noblest pursuit in favor of rather vulgar exclamations of shock and unbelief over the Moonstone that I might have or might not have ingested. Their simple minds seemed unable to move past the fact that Grass Pokemon (such as yours truly) cannot achieve their definition of evolution by eating Moonstones. Finding myself generously disposed towards them and feeling it's might duty to drag them along the path of enlightenment, I endeavoured to explain to them the sensation of inner starlight that the Moonstone produced in my bloodstream. My dissertation was cut short when those two ingrates opened their mouths. I braced myself for more simplistic objections but, instead of words, their mouths produced thousands upon thousands of screeching Zubats, so I fled.

I ran for only short distance when the idea of digging a myself a sanctuary from those airborne monstrosities hit me suddenly and truly. Planted as I am, in this shallow hole, I feel confident that I shall see the morning's light. My only sadness is that I lack some Antidote to level me off. Other then that, I feel like Venusaur.ā€

Bulbasaur's diary

10 PM

Feeling that, with MewTwo lynched, the victory is within his grasp, Ragian silently followed the lone Poliwag, with faithful Dakky by his side. The Poliwag finally stopped near a small lake, where he layed in the shallow water and closed his eyes to sleep. As silently as he could, Ragian tok out a pokeball and threw it into the sleeping Poliwag. The ball struck him, waking him up.

"Aww, not this again...", Nagerous managed to utter and then he dissapeared inside the pokeball.

Triumphant, Ragian turned around to share his happiness with Dakky. Instead he watched as three Wild pokemon who appeared, seemingly. out of nowhere, launched themselves at Dakky.

Ragian turned and fled.

Dakky is (Gary's Squirtle) Level 1 (Water Pokemon) has been knocked out.

Nagerous (Gary's Poliwag) Level 1 (Water Pokemon) has been captured

9 PM Hotshot watched with pleasure as three Wild Pokemon set out to knock out Dakky, which would leave Ragian without protection. All he had to do now was find another pokemon to dupe into killing Ragian and victory would be his! However, before he could put his plan into action, BuJaber came out of bushes and blocked his path.

ā€œThis ends now, Team Rocket scum!ā€, BuJaber said while leting loose a jet of flame.

ā€œAAAA! I'm on fire!ā€, cried Hotshot, because he was in fact on fire.

ā€œI'll put you out!ā€, came the voice behind him. It was Nagerous. He sent a Water Cannon blast which indeed put out Hotshot but also knocked off his head.

ā€œGood job!ā€, said BuJaber to Nagerous,ā€Wanna go hunt for some more scum?ā€

ā€œNah!ā€, Nagerous responded, ā€œI think that we nailed them all. I'll go get some rest.ā€

He waved to Bujaber and set off to a nearby lake. He failed to notice the two shadows, who have been following him since Night fell and who now started to sneak closer and closer...

Hotshot James ( Team Rocket Instigator) has been killed. Team Rocket has been eliminated.

Nightfall:

With MewTwo lynched, Strike decided to take advantage of his Defensive Mastery.

He was still in the process of making that decision when 2 fiery hooves swiftly struck him in the head. As he fell down, he saw Legion starting to glow and grow bigger.

Thanks for the game Mandy great scene. Nailed it by attacking hotshot 8-) . Thought that team Gary might end up capturing me but good to get the win.

DoomYoshi had to go as mewtwo he was too much of a threat of night kills personally .

Would it be possible to post everyone's night actions?

Cheers

Dammit Legion. If you thought I was scummy you could have at least accused me in day phase where I could have explained my actions. Frankly if Mewtwo hadn't been lynched I was going to target him tonight.

Good game all. For the record my comment to Dakky about making threats and baseless accusations was true. Threats are a way to coerce third party compliance but not one I like. From the idea of keeping someone from doing it long term I was willing to sacrifice short term viability. So where I normally could have been convinced otherwise I basically chose to just go against his case on Doom. I failed by not making a timely case against hotshot (I still felt he was scum but like Chu I kind of downplayed the actual scummy behavior because I wanted to deter mafia from attacking me. Little did I know that I should have been watching out for seemingly random pokemon attacks).

For the record, I killed TWO night 1. It was pot shot time since I needEd to level up at least once and I was willing to take a wild stab at someone who had also been accused of being connected to Skoffin and Chu.

Good game all. Sorry if I sound a bit bitter.

Nice! High-five Nagerous.

Night actions:
I suspected Nagerous was a trainer so I attacked him Night 1. The result was 0.5xp which meant either he was water /ground electric pokemon or he owned a pokemon of that type that was protecting him. Spent part of day 2 silently trying to figure out which it was, until it became apparent he's also a wild pokemon.

After being a bit too visible in posts on day 2 I considered Defending for night 2, but no risk no reward: I figured it was pretty hard to kill me unless people ganged up on me, and even if I die I can get a final attack out. So I attacked Hotshot since I failed to get him lynched. Luckily that all worked out because he was the only TR left.

Ragian - I find it amusing that you tried to deny that you were Gary even though I didn't explicitly say it. Gary being identified by TR/Mewtwo would not be good for wild pokemon so I didn't want it to be discussed too much. Not sure it made any difference to you getting attacked but anyway it's nice to know that I wasn't wrong about who you were for once.

Great game everyone, and thank you Mandy - Was an interesting format.

Thank you all for playing. :)

Some impressions:

1) Everyone wants Nag in their pokeball. Out of three capture attempts, 2 were made at him.

2) When I first intended to make this game, my fondest hope wast that Anark and Wing would both join. Thank you guys for joining and for playing in the entertaining way I dreamed you would, you were both great. I especially liked how you ended up on the same bandwagon and am sure that you would have gone full Tango&Cash by the end (look it up, kids), but for the sinister forces of Team Rocket which made Wing attack Nark and then killed Wing. That was sad.

3) Legionaire evolving into Rapidash: That probably would have happened even if the game hadn't ended, but I can't tell you which perk he would have, since I was making them up as I went along. (Trained Pokemon perks would have been investigative).

Legion was, by far the most efficient killer with two solo kills.

4) Ragian almost caught MewTwo during Night 1 (one coin flip away).

5) WHY DID YOU GUYS KILL DOOM!!!!??? :x His posts had me in stiches during Day 2, but I have been rooting for him ever since he started roleplaying during Day 1. You rock Doom!

6) Exile, I'm not disputing my mistake but HOW DO YOU PLAY FOR OVER A WEEK WITHOUT KNOWING YOUR WIN CONDITION?!?! :o

BTW, on the subject of the fuck-ups with role PMs, I underestimated how long it would take (3 hours) and was pretty far from fully capable by the end of it. I apologize to those I have short-PMed.
