This would help prevent someone who is a map specialist from taking and hogging that position for years to come. All he has to do is farm more points on the same settings when he sees anyone getting close to his score. I don't think that should be happening.
I don't know the guy, so I'm not saying anything about Naruto as a person, but as a player, he's clearly a map specialist and not a good all-rounder. I would get so bored playing that many games on the same few maps. But, with the right mindset, and enough time, any middle of the road player could get to field marshall using the same method.

Silly Knig-it wrote:I still run map rank on those with Col. and above. So many are only 5-10 maps wide. So I give them credit for what they know but know I would be bored playing that few number of maps. If I wanted to maintain and achieve rank, I would certainly stop playing tournaments, stop playing invites from lower ranked players with strange settings combos, stop socializing with as many people.
But how boring...boring...
But if they pay their money they can do what they want, just don't ask me to respect them because of their rank. The ones I really respect are the few who play lots of tournaments, random games, etc and 'still' maintain rank. Those are the truly skilled players. imho

I don't think so, above 4k points, winning 80% of your game against a major isn't enough to get higher. And even a map specialist has a hard time winning 80% of his game against a serious major. Especially when you have players like benga for exampe, he is a major, but no way you can beat him 80% of the time o any map.
People with field marshall rank, even if they are map specialist, only playing one map, aren't "any middle of the road player", they're above the average.
