gotta say i'm really shocked that people don't know who played when. musial, dimaggio, killebrew, etc. all these guys played way after ruth....
the mysterious cardinal, hmmm......don't know, tris speaker? was he a cardinal?

ok, he did not play for only the st. louis cardinals. He played 11 years with them, then he went to the giants, then the boston braves, then the cubs, then the st. louis browns (never heard of them before).
But I don't know how helpful that clue is. This clue should give it away, this question has been going on for a couple of days now.
With the Cardinals, he was a 2 time triple crown winner.

yeah i realized that after i said musial. I dont know any Cardinals, I am a Cub fan.
