[Site/Forum] Highest Score Ever Achieved

Post by Shrinky »

First of all let me say that I do not know whether this has come up earlier or not, but I'm posting it since I find it to be a good idea.

Wouldn't it be great when other players visit one player's profile and can see exactly how far the person went up to. What his highest score was.
It would look great if the highest score of a person was shown.

Very often it happens that some people look at the person's rank and then judge him/her based on that.
Now if a person was a sergeant earlier and is currently private, then judging the person by the ranking would be VERY misleading.

Inputs please :)

deadbeating lowers your score whatever - deadbeat = lose.

history

Post by Simonov »

i think there should be a two short notes added to profile of every player - maximal and minimal score he ever had. it would tell you more about the difficulty of this opponent. or you could add a numerical valuation of player after every game on a scale from 1-10 which would be given by other player in addition to comments. it would help everyone to choose with whom to play,

priority : 2 (low)

p.s. look at 'em teeth o'mine!

Show highest attained rank on profile

Post by castudil »

Subject: Suggestion: Best ranking ever for each player

Grifter wrote:Concise description:
Show a player's highest attained rank on their profile. This would be displayed below their current rank.

Specifics/Details:
Due to the nature of the game a player can get promoted to a higher rank only to be demoted after some unfortunate losses. If so then their current rank would still be shown on games and forums but the profile would display the highest rank. Below is what it might like for me

Username: Grifter
Current Rank: Lieutenant
Highest Rank: Captain

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
Allow players to brag about their accomplishments even it was for a short time. Also encourage a player to keep going an re-attain their promotion.
* Suggestion Idea:

add the Best ranking ever for each player in the profile.

* Why it is needed:

The ranking for each player but itself only gives an idea about the player performance over all the games, but doesn't reflect how the player is at the last moment or how it was in the past.

for example I can see a cooker with 10% of games won. If this player have played 10000 games then, for me is a veteran. As an example imagine an extreme case, the same player lost the first 9000 but won the last 1000 games,

in general improvement to the ranking score can be made, but a simple best score can give more information about a player

additionally best ranking ever, can help player to improve their own marks! which is good for the competitive spirit
I think having a "Best Ever:" line in our profiles would be a fun addition. Although, I am sure it is already on the to-do list under "Expanded User Profiles" or something along those lines.

definitely I would love that, maybe a highest rank (as in #100) and a best score (as in 2500) or something like that.

And maybe even a best streak, or current streak?

From now to the future is probably the easier way, Almost sure that retrieving the ranking from the past is a titanic effort

well they would have to, cause it would not be fair to the others who scored high in the past

Well since all the games are stored it should be possible to get the historical data back!

I track mine in my signature, but yea it would be cool to have a highest lifetime tracked by the system. Or maybe a graph.
Highest lifetime score: 2441 on 5/26/08

Game 2284153: 2008-05-26 19:47:16 - hatterson loses 68 points <-- ouch
