oh, ya that was the general plan :) that first map was just the very basics of what MarVal had done for me, but when this is done it should i think look like a very dark and creepy town from birds eye view

You should use the colors red, white, and black as much as you can.

And I too, have some growing concern over the lack of intest in the very neat-oh map. I hope that it is just because most people are visual learners and need to see a map!

I hate the graphics but this is one of the best ideas gameplay wise I've seen on this site.

Really hope this makes it all the way.

I like how this map is coming along, but to be honest, this new update hurts my eyes. The buildings seem all blurry, perhaps that's why?

im sure the blurrynes will go away with future updates :) im not worried there, hre is my list of what needs to be done as of now (map wise)

-add some zombies in blank space
-national guard bombardment tower updates
-change subway station complex's (to look dif)
-figure out an effective attack path from zombies to buildings (will i only have 1 way in and out of all buildings? or multiple routes?)

I'm very happy. This is coming along great!

Is it just me, or does the map remind anyone else of the original RESIDENT EVIL videogame??? Or maybe POLLYPOCKET goes zombie?

The map is a bit blurry, but I'm sure that will be remidied later.

You should have at least one road out of town though, to make it more realistic. You could put an Army blockade in the way, have a bridge out, or maybe just some flaming cars. You need more stuff on fire anyway.

Where is the helicopter pad??? The National Guard towers have completly disappeared, but I know that you plan to fix that too.

Natewolfman wrote:-figure out an effective attack path from zombies to buildings (will i only have 1 way in and out of all buildings? or multiple routes?)

I say multiple, to add more strategy. Would it filter players into each other?

This is friggin' great!!!!!! :P =P~ =P~ =P~

There needs to be more space on the building areas for both names and armies.

I know you're wanting a dark map, but doing a concrete gray might be a better color for the streets. Otherwise you're going to have to go with some bright text/territory border colors.

I wouldn't make all those zombies territories. That would make this a pretty big map if you did.

The title needs an "S".

I'm not too keen on the current map border. Plus, there's no room for map instructions/explanations.

1) correct, im certain the blurry factor will be fixed :)

2) thats a great idea, ill PM that to MarVal (the out of town idea) more detailed stuff in the streets im sure will be comeing in future updates (probably soon since most the big stuff is done)

3) ayeaye, helipad & NG will be fixed :)

1) ayeaye, im sure MarVal thought of this, he said earlier when i asked about space "It will all fit in the end" so im not too woried about that yet :)

2) For the streets, i was figureing that the details such as concrete and whatnot would come later... but yes i did see it as looking like real streets, not the black it is now

3) This is whare i disagree with you, the zombie territories, if anything i dont think there are enough  since every turn the zombies killer neutral themselves back, its as if the contries dont exist at all, ya know? they are just neverending obsticales... the buildings are the only true teritories

4) lol i didnt even notice... ill inform MarVal he forgot the S

5) hmm... good point on the instructions... perhaps we shrink it a tad and add an extra area to the side for instructions? or maybe MarVal already has that planned, but ill add this to him as well.

Great feedback so quick folks :) keep it comeing and we will keep this map moving!

Two quick things:

1) I love the concept, but at the moment the graphics are pretty terrible.

2) you must guard against making it too difficult to move around, otherwise people will just sit and build, and that's no fun at all. If nothing else, if I were to find myself in the middle of a zombie outbreak, I'd wait till there weren't too many around to make my move.Maybe make the initial neutrals very low (like 1 or 2) to encourage early movement, but make the respawning neutrals higher (like 5), which would fit the whole zombie pack-hunting behavior.

the plan was to make the zombies around the edge a 1 or 2, then deeper you get into the city the crazy high numbers apear... and i had planned to make them respawn back to normal... but are you saying to have them respawn up to say 5 after i take the 1/2 down? basically... a burnt bridge policy, you killed a bunch of them and now there is no turning back... that idea i do like =D>

Yes it is now blurry, Juan.
But at this moment I have no time in RL
(only to make my turns and the stuff that don't take much time).

IMO is the idea of Natewolfman not only great and splendid, but he want to make a fantastic way for strategy and so on (read it all on his first post on page 1).
I just wanna help him to realize his idea on paper.

My goal for now is that the idea of Natewolfman will be visible, so he not only tell you all by words his ideas, but also in graphics. And maybe someday he will get the "ideas stamp".

So, I realize the map is blurry, but when the time will come for this, I shall work harder and hopefully make the map better in the eyes of you all ;-)

And sorry, Natewolfman that the time I have isn't enough at this moment

My first post in this 5 page thread, but I love the idea. I'm about finished reading World War Z, and it's really got me in the mood for a good zombie map. If I find the time I'll go back and read through all the banter. But I fully support the idea. The graphics do need some work - but I'm sure that will come. You got me for graphics support if you wish. ;)

and you should make the zombies around the helipad extra strong!
"There he goes.
One of God's own prototypes.
Some kind of high powered mutant
never even considered for mass production.
Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

Juan - you seem like a pretty interesting fellow. You a romero fan? what about fulci or argento? Those old italian greats. I love the horror genre and have a been a fan since the 80's. Although I'm also a grindhouse fan as well. Last house on the left (ala Sean Cunninham) is a classic in my book..

But enough thread jack. Nate - If you and Marval need a third eye for some zombie graphics, let me know.

-----------

One more thread jack - This was/is the tattoo I'm considering. I'll respect anyone who can name the artist.

I dont mind honestly, I want this map to be brought to its highest potential :) I dont know if MarVal needs/wants any help, but give him a PM and find out, if it speeds this to quench I dont mind the extra help =D>

gameplay wise, does it *generally* look pretty good? the attack routes are not 100% finalized yet though
