Rules:
Spoiler
The game is turn-based (like chess, checkers, or Risk); turns are in clockwise order, starting from the player in the upper left.
Every turn, you place a piece that is one or two spaces away from any of your other pieces. However, it has to be along a diagonal, row, or column; it can't be a "chess knight", or L-shaped move. For instance, the blue player cannot move on Ed on their first turn.
If you immediately surround an opponent's piece with your move, you convert that piece, and it becomes your own. This is done to individual pieces, not an entire row, column, or diagonal like in Reversi. Also, only pieces you surround with the piece you place are captured. Take the following example:
| @| @| _ |
| _ | @| _ |
| _ | @| _ |
If you are blue, and you move on the upper right corner, this becomes the next position:
| @| @| @|
| _ | @| _ |
| _ | @| _ |
You do not capture the middle piece because, although it has been directly surrounded, it wasn't surrounded by a piece you placed, but by a piece you captured.
It is possible, however, to capture two or more pieces (if you happen to directly surround multiple pieces with the piece you just placed).
The game ends when there are no more possible moves. If an individual player can't move, their turn is skipped. Otherwise, they're not allowed to pass.
