this tourny will be consisted of 16 teams of 2 people on each team to make it a doubles tourny.
if u would like to join u will need to post a college of ur choice and both team members
ALL games will be classic, seq, flat, unlimited
each round will be a best of 3 series, the winner of the series will advanse to the next round
for example...michigan plays kansas in round one, all 3 games will be played at once, witchever team wins 2 or even 3 games will advance to play in round 2
if u dont know any college names i will choose one for u
only premium members because 3 games will be played at one time and i want to keep this tourny running smoothly
i am hoping the tournament runs smoothly so no time limit will be used, if games are taking too long then a time limit will be instituted
u will have 72 hours to join if u do not join or tell me a legitiment excuse there will be a forfeit( this rule will start at elite 8 as in i just put it in)

Die4aSandwich and Aerial Attack
College: North Carolina Tar Heels (UNC)
Sequential and Flat Rate, doesn't lend itself toward quick eliminations (10 days). So, a double forfeit is going to happen a lot.
How about instead of a double forfeit, after 10 days - you determine a winner based on some sort of formula?
As in:
Team 1, player 1 has 10 territories (*2) + South America (2) + 28 armies + 3 Cards (*2.5)
Team 1, player 2 has ....
If Team 1 Total > Team 2 Total (by 10+) Team 1 is winner and vice versa (otherwise draw/double forfeit for that map). I gues if each team has 1 win and the third map is a draw - then it's a double forfeit.

Is 64 teams not a bit to much? I don't think you can get 64 teams within a reasonable time.
64 teams is alot for my first tournament so i will cut it to 32. after 10 days instead of a forfiet i will decide on who will advance based on the game and whitch team is winning
Isn't it a little ambiguous to just decide who is going to go on? I mean, one team could be behind in a team game but totally come back to win if they were given another few rounds.
You might consider having it simply be single elimination since its your first tournament. 32 teams, one game, win or go home, sweet sixteen, and so on. You probably wouldn't have too long for the games to finish then.
i am gonna keep the tournament this way. if anyone has a good suggestion for the way to decide a game after 10 days please notify me. a round will still be a best of 3 series with all 3 games played at one time
I don't know if there really is a good way to decide a game that's not complete after 10 days, you'll have to ask some of the more experienced players.
The one thing I would recommend is changing the cards from Flat to Escalating to help speed the games up so there will be less chance of unfinished games. I think trying to decide a game after 10 days especially the close ones, will cause problems unless there is a clear guideline. I would first say that all players from both teams finish the round before any decision is made. That way 1 team doesn't get an extra turn of troops. Then you have to decide what you consider to be winning. Having more troops or owning countries.
If troops: combine teams total troops and whoever has more be declared the winner.
If countries: combine teams total countries and give the bonuses for any continents owned.

Maybe call games that are not finished after 10 days a draw, and if that gives no conclusion, then the team that has most territories over the 3 games combined the winners (?).
But then you really have to give a precise time when the 10 days are over to give players a chance to act on the criteria you use.
there will be no 10 day rule to start this tourny, if games are taking too long then i will make a rule then, but if games are run smoothly then no rule will be needed
