Balance of Power Theory

Ok - been having a few games lately, where one player is clearly dominating, and instead of the other players working to try to win the game, they seem to just attack the weakest player or another player that is clearly not winning.

Is no one here familiar with the 'Balance of Power Theory'?

This happens all the time. It's like playing with a bunch of drunken idiots. That's why I pretty much stick with 1 v 1 games now.

Yeah 1v1's are all I do. You don't need to form alliances, or have idiots to balance the leader. It has skyrocketed my points to lieutenant.

You'll get games like that alright, there's a lot of... not very good players around, you probably just need some better competition.

Try to live at 2nd place, you'll be in good shape no matter what is happening.

Try to play some better players, higher ranks or join passw games and not just the free for all to join games!

Though the playing with morons can help as long as your the one that gets the advantage

If I am in a position to get cards by eliminating a weaker player and improve my own army production, I will go after the weakest IF it isn't a suicidal move to ignore the stronger player at that point. But I may have misunderstood the original poster's point. Sometimes a complete balance of power makes for a long drawn out (and boring) game.

Should have clarified - most of my games are No Cards - I like the 1v1 thing too...
