i love the idea, its different from all other maps and adds some new strategy to the game. its still annoying as hell when you start with 2 and your opponent doesnt tho.
I know. I wanted to play a game of terminator- and the USApocalypse map looked more like a barren wasteland in which to kill.
I wanted the map to be new to everyone (But looking back - philberts played it before and won a couple of times )
I've also played recently the Ireland map.
Then i made a six player, classic, esc. sequential 1 fort game, and Zawbanjito (or however he spells it) joined and said that he was glad someone out there is still keeping the old school map going as there are so many options now.
I think the question is why did it subtract 2 and then add 1 for a so-called "radiation nexus." what's that? Also my understanding of the map's key is that it's never supposed to penalize any more than 1 army - in this case it said it penalized me 2.
theres a similar set up in the tamriel map with embassies if you hold an entire continent then if you control the country with the flag the same color as the continent you get an xtra 2 armies which is a lot considering tis only one more country
First time my friends and i decided to try this game out, we made the mistake of trying out "no cards" bonus also. Needless to say, that game went on for some time

My favorite is Cuba (Florida) even though it's not part of the playable map

Thats just because of the way Jota had to set up the program to get it to add the right armies. You owned 2 irridated countries and your bonus because of that is supposed to be -1.
The map sees the 2 irridated countries and subtracts 2, then gives you +1 for the nexus which is there so your net loss is only one army.
If you own 3 irridated countries it will say -3 for irridated territory and then +3 for the nexus for a net of 0 armies.

It seems like it would be pretty similar to most other no card games really. The irridated territories subtract 1, but the continents are all roughly 1 more than they would be in a normal map to compensate for that.
The only map to worry about playing no cards with is Circus Maximus (well that and a 42 person Battle Royale)

I suspected such was the case , but I wasn't sure. Thank you very much for your answer!
You're welcome. I know its confusing since the whole idea of the nexus is not spelled out in the map itself. Whats even more confusing is how Jota had the ability to come up with such a system and make it work!
