It looks like it would play well. Maybe you could adjust the colors of the 3 "continents" on the outside, they look kinda the same. Also it would be nice if the names of the continents were the same color as their continents, it would make it easier to figure out which is worth what. I think this is a great job, I look foward to playing on it!
Maybe write the continent values in the colour of the continent it will be easier for americans and stuff as they don't know all of the continents like us europians do.
I think... Where you say how many men you get... they should be the color of that place so it is easier for people like me who don't know what place is what

two things, i kinda like the colors that are there right now with the exception of the outer, but still.
what i think the map is missing is a place like australia or S America, there no country that only has one or two borders to protect, unless i am mistaken. and i am assuming lybia is bordered?
Well, thank you everyone for your feedback. Once the map is finished, I will work the "continents'" color scheme into the legend, for all of us dumb Americans.
broomhead brought up something that has plagued me since I began work on this 2 weeks ago, which is the lack of natural boundaries on the map. Just to test the waters, I added a pair of mountain ranges, and Egypt has been mysteriously sunk, along with the eastern half of Libya. The one problem I see with this is that now the Near East has 6 countries and only one access route.
Oh, and I plan to extend the Sea of Azov there to keep the Ukraine from Western Russia, giving that cont. only 2 access points.
Yes, who cares about the colors, the connections to Russia was the only thing I was going to mention. If it didn't touch Belarus and Ukraine I'd love the map.
Well, I thought it would be an Europe map... but it has parts of Africa and Asia... I didnt like that. I think its a wast only one country in the map to big real countries like Spain and France...
Is Switzerland in the right place?? And what you call Great Britain its England, because Great Britain is the whole island (it includes Scotland too). Oh, where is Egypt in the new map? I think you cant delete real countries to make the map more playable, its part of mapmaking challenge. About the inscription, they are right.
Edit: How about a route between England and Belgium?
I will be sure to change Great Britain to England. Yes, Switzerland is in the right place. Maybe the fact that the name is so long and the country is comparatively so small is what is throwing you off. I assume by "inscription" you are referring to the point values in the upper left, changing the colors to match the continents?
Now, about Egypt...
The only reason I took it out in the first place was the suggestion that the continents need fewer access points. In the actual board game the creators had fudged a few boundaries to suit their needs, or certain countries were assimilated (re: U.K. + Ireland under the blanket name "Great Britain"). I could put Egypt back in and make the east half of Libya part of Egypt, and then they could just not be able to attack each other.
See, 7 continents instead of 6... Is it a good idea? I dont know. 47 countries, by my counts, why not 45 or 48 (this way there will be always neutral countries)? But these are only details, you need pay more attention to the continents.
Russia, for example, includes 4 countries, but 3 are border countries, so 2 armies is a small bonus. Same with Scandinavia, 5 countries, but 4 in the borders and at least 7 countries to attack it, and for a bonus of 3 armies. Germany is a lost continent, because is the shorter route to any attack, and its almost impossible to hold. I see, the presence of Africa and Middle East helps to increase attack routes, but not as would be good.
A tip to you: make a table of each continent, a table that includes number of countries, countries in border, frontiers between countries in same continent, and frontiers between countries of continent and countries of different continents. I did it, and helped me so much in doing the Brazil map (I compared it to same table of classic map).
I will help you, I will put here the table for Classic map:
(ps: each frontier is counted twice; Brazil - Argentina and Argentina - Brazil, for example)
1) North America (9 countries):
Total border countries: 3
Total frontiers same cont: 31
Total frontiers other cont: 3
2) South America (4 countries):
Total border countries: 2
Total frontiers same cont: 10
Total frontiers other cont: 2
3) Africa (6 countries):
Total border countries: 3
Total frontiers same cont: 18
Total frontiers other cont: 5
4) Europe (7 countries):
Total border countries: 4
Total frontiers same cont: 22
Total frontiers other cont: 8
5) Asia (12 countries):
Total border countries: 5
Total frontiers same cont: 42
Total frontiers other cont: 8
6) Oceania (4 countries):
Total border countries: 1
Total frontiers same cont: 10
Total frontiers other cont: 1
And, is always good have Egypt in the map, but I think it should belong to Africa, dont you? And by inscription, yes, I was talking about the legend with bonus armies.
