New World... new game plan?

I really don't like the New World map, but I'm facing a game in a tourney. This is my first tourney to compete in. Can anyone give me some basic pointers? I've heard it is a castle map. I'm not in the game yet, but it should start sometime soon...

Personally, I hate the "castle" maps. (ie, all those damn neutrals), but for some reason, I really like The New World. I found it to be more intuitive than the others. Just make sure you read the map legends thoroughly (as with any new-to-you map).

I think I'm going to go play a game there now.

attack from europe to landing ports, attack the 1's for a bonus on the homelands. build up on homelands and use other sto counter attack where your opponent is

Out of the 8 games that you'd completed already, there is not even a single flawless victory yet in sight. Perhaps, when you've won one game first then I might just listen to your uber gameplay plan.

This works pretty well on the map. Especially on people unfamiliar with the map who spread themselves thinly looking for a free bonus.

if onnly you are familiar with Feudal Map, there are a lot of similarities in strategies you have to follow. I love that map even more than feudal, and i call new world to be the brown version of green feudal map..
