Is the double-turn not reward enough for those dedicated enough to wait?psa3rvb wrote:People will wait and wait and wait and not end on purpose so they can start the at the beginning of the next round and not have to wait for any of the other players to start.
I am saying do not reward them.obliterationX wrote:Is the double-turn not reward enough for those dedicated enough to wait?psa3rvb wrote:People will wait and wait and wait and not end on purpose so they can start the at the beginning of the next round and not have to wait for any of the other players to start.
Lag is a genuine reason, but not paying attention is not. Many freestyle games do not have cards and thus there is no downside to running out of time over just ending and in fact the current system rewards those who run out of time because they can start right away.KoE_Sirius wrote:So what happens when someone has a genuine reason for running out of time.
Like Lag or not paying attention to the clock etc. They have already missed a card which is punishment enough.
If it worries you so much just wait and watch them run out of time and take full advantage of the situation.
I say we do, reward me with your points - join a few of my freestyle speed games I have up from time-to-time.psa3rvb wrote:I am saying do not reward them.obliterationX wrote:Is the double-turn not reward enough for those dedicated enough to wait?psa3rvb wrote:People will wait and wait and wait and not end on purpose so they can start the at the beginning of the next round and not have to wait for any of the other players to start.

Both you and your opponent have to roll the dice, so no, I've never played R*SK FS.AgentSmith88 wrote:Has anyone ever played a game of RISK freestyle? I think probably not. There are so many ways to play cheaply, I don't bother to play it at all. So when it comes to people bitching about how things are unfair, nobody really cares because all you have to do is not play freestyle.

That's the thing about "options". You have a choice to take them or not. Not every type of play has to please everyone.psa3rvb wrote:To the people who say it is part of the game, that is a fair statement.
To the rest who say just dont play freestyle, that is a horribly dumb statement to make considering it is one of the major game functions. I am sorry that I desire the fast pace game play of freestyle but dont want the cheesy lame tactics.

Only start/join freestyle games with spoils and probably avoid speed freestyle altogether. I checked your games and you do that for the most part already, so you already have the right idea.psa3rvb wrote:...Many freestyle games do not have cards and thus there is no downside to running out of time over just ending and in fact the current system rewards those who run out of time because they can start right away.
Only constructive comments please.

How many people who dont play freestyle would consider playing freestyle if this was changed?
